but I often wonder, how many do this?

Hey Odie! He mentioned something about reaching North Georgia tomorrow night. If that be the case, they should reach our neck of the woods Monday evening.

I thought of this song today. Don't know why. I like it............gives me goosebumps:

It's late Sunday morning. The location is right across the road from our home. Hubby and I woke up late and enjoyed a leisurely morning. We look out our front door and see the cops are on the job again. We have yet another road block in progress. Ofcourse, I had to get my camera out. The girl in one of the photos below just had a field sobriety test and had her belongings taken from her vehicle and examined by an officer.

My son and his buddy arrived safe and sound. It is so nice for me to give that "mom" hug again, look into my sons eyes and hear his laughter. Life has made both of us older. I hope we can get to know each other again and be part of each other's lives. :)

Home is the one place in all this world where hearts are sure of each other. It is the place of confidence. It is the place where we tear off that mask of guarded and suspicious coldness which the world forces us to wear in self-defense, and where we pour out the unreserved communications of full and confiding hearts. It is the spot where expressions of tenderness gush out without any sensation of awkwardness and without any dread of ridicule. ~Frederick W. Robertson

:-4 This song is for my son:

YouTube - Dixie Chicks - Landslide (normal version + lyrics)

Landslide lyrics

Songwriters: Nicks, Stevie;

Took my love and I took it down

Climbed a mountain and I turned around

And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?

Can the child within my heart rise above?

Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?

Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I've been afraid of changin'

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes bolder, children get older

I'm getting older too, well

Well, I've been afraid of changin'

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes bolder, children get older

I'm getting older too, well, I'm getting older too

So take this love and take it down

Yeah, and if you climb a mountain and you turn around

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide brought down

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well maybe, well maybe, well maybe

The landslide will bring you down

My horoscope for today:

April 22, 2010

Leo (7/23-8/22)

Are you ready for a day that's perfect, for no other reason than because you're simply happy to be you? It's coming, so do what you've got to do. We're all entitled to that kind of magical day now and then, and you, of all people, are set to enjoy it. Of course, feelings this good should be shared with someone you care for -- and you know just the lucky person to invite along for the ride.

Hey Odie! :)

I work in the Personnel office. Answer the phone, file, track records, in-process new hires, assist employees...that type of thing. I've been with the company since 1991, but during my first three years there, I worked in the plant.

People buy alot of poultry thankfully. :yh_chickn

Hey Odie! :)

My son is doing well. He has been staying nearby with some married friends and their two children. His buddy (the guy he rode down here with), unfortunately, had a family emergency so he had to return to ND, but he does plan on returning soon. This past week, my son has been revisitng old friends and getting to know the area again. And, ofcourse, visiting me and Hubby. :) I think this week he will be job hunting.

I do have a photo of us taken this past Friday, but it turned out a little blurry.

Song for the day:

Now here you go again

You say you want your freedom

Well who am I to keep you down

It's only right that you should

Play the way you feel it

But listen carefully to the sound

Of your loneliness

Like a heartbeat drives you mad

In the stillness of remembering what you had

And what you lost

And what you had

And what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining

Players only love you when they're playing

Say, women, they will come and they will go

When the rain washes you clean you'll know

Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions

I keep my visions to myself

It's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams and

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Dreams of loneliness

Like a heartbeat drives you mad

In the stillness of remembering what you had

And what you lost

And what you had

And what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining

Players only love you when they're playing

Say, women, they will come and they will go

When the rain washes you clean you'll know

You'll know

You will know

You'll know...

I grew up in the city of Chicago, so I am familiar with these. The garbage trucks would use them to pick up the trash from behind the houses. It was also a good short cut......in the daytime. The dark of night made them kind of creepy.

An alley or alleyway is a narrow, pedestrian lane found in urban areas which usually runs between or behind buildings. In older cities and towns in Europe, alleys are often what is left of a medieval street network, or a right of way or ancient footpath in an urban setting. In older urban development, alleys were built to allow for deliveries such as coal to the rear of houses. Alleys may be paved, or simply dirt tracks. A blind alley has no outlet at one end and is thus a cul-de-sac.

Do you live near one?

Well, today it's sunny and rather warm here. But..............I'm still thinking about umbrellas. :wah: Whoever invented the first one was a smart person, but sometimes, they are a bit of a hassle to tote. Sometimes, I'd rather just wear a raincoat with a hood. However, I do like the sound of the raindrops beating down on the top of my open umbrella.

YOUR MOTHER IS ALWAYS WITH YOU...

Your mother is always with you...

She's the whisper of the leaves

as you walk down the street.

She's the smell of bleach

in your freshly laundered socks.

She's the cool hand on your brow

when you're not well.

Your mother lives inside your laughter.

She's crystallized in every tear drop.

She's the place you came from,

your first home...

She's the map you follow

with every step that you take.

She's your first love

and your first heart break...

and nothing on earth can separate you.

Not time, Not space...

Not even death...

will ever separate you

from your mother...

You carry her inside of you...

You're welcome, Zapata. :)

My Mother's garden

My Mother kept a garden,

a garden of the heart,

She planted all the good things

that gave my life it's start.

She turned me to the sunshine

and encouraged me to dream,

Fostering and nurturing

the seeds of self-esteem...

And when the winds and rain came,

she protected me enough--

But not too much because she knew

I'd need to stand up strong and tough.

Her constant good example

always taught me right from wrong--

Markers for my pathway

that will last a lifetime long.

I am my Mother's garden.

I am her legacy-

And I hope today she feels the love

reflected back from me

Unknown

It is Mother's Day today and I was just doing a little project. I remember my Mother planting Four O'Clock flowers in our front yard in Chicago. The photos below are of my mother and me as her firstborn:

my grandmother, my mom, myself and my daughter: me and my older son: me and my daughter: me and my younger son; and me and my first grandchild. The photos may bit a blurry as I took them with my camera, but my feelings of love are not. :-4

AFTR's Daily Commute

Post by along-for-the-ride »

A song for today:

YouTube - Tuesday Afternoon (forever afternoon) - The Moody Blues

An oldie but goodie. ;)

Tuesday Afternoon

Moody Blues

Tuesday afternoon,

I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way

It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.

Something, calls to me,

The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?

Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh.

I'm looking at myself reflections of my mind,

It's just the kind of day to leave myself behind.

So gently swaying through the fairyland of love,

If you'll just come with me you'll see the beauty of

Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday, afternoon,

I'm just beginning to see, now I'm on my way.

It doesn't matter to me, chasing the clouds away.

Something, calls to me,

The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?

Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh

AFTR's Daily Commute

"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life. "

— John Burroughs

I truly do enjoy seeing small, colorful patches of wildflowers along the road. I also get to see a red cardinal and his mate take a break now and then on the small tree outside my window here. Nature is awsome.

Next time you are riding in your vehicle, scan around and see what's along side the road. I've been noticing patches of purple wildflowers bloomimg here and there. Lovely. :)
