I drink sleepy tea, like: valerian, hops, lemon balm, chamomile..It puts me right out. Watching golf helps too.

Not too large mind you

On a side note, people should really avoid as much light as they possibly can before they go to bed and that includes your comps!!!!

My Old Family Doctor told my Parents that at 6 years old I was the youngest child he had ever prescribed sleeping pills to but he was left with little options.

My bedroom Is like a war time black out shelter as any chink of light will wake me up even with drugs.

There Is not one drug alone that works for me so I have to have a mixture of three different products.

Now you know why I'm here at 4 In the morning some-times :wah:

Oh dear...

Have you tried vigorous exercise throughout your day?

I'm not surprised my experiences have lead to observing more from England having sleeping issues could this be because of your extremely large tea drinking culture?

Bingo...that's me too. The slightest noise, even the house creaking, wakes me up. Insomnia is horrible. I use music, mostly Pink Floyd and Linda Rondstat or sometimes some electronica, to help, but if I wake up at 4:00am....it's over for the night.:(

Perhaps those with sleeping problems should indulge themselves in philosophical debates.

The only thing I can think of is people with sleeping issues stay awake due to an active mind and if one were to get satisfaction in bringing about a conclusion to their thoughts they'd find it easier to fall asleep. This would be true for myself.

I suggest engaging in philosophical debates for two weeks. I think you'll see a change. Express that meandering mind!

Try a 4 inch fan. Put it on your night table, I have used one for years.

It blocks out any sounds.

Getting back to sleep sometimes is hard, try reading as it will make you drowsy and anything that is on your mind, reading something will take it off.

I sympathise and Empathise Saint.

I have three dogs that re-act to a moth passing the house a mile away or the whirr of a bee's wings early morning. I use wax earplugs to stop being woken by them and they are a huge help. I also use an eye mask so If I'm lucky enough to sleep through to the morning, It helps when It gets light.

Exercise nor Caffine Is not the Issue Kev. My Insomnia began as a small child.

I am active most days and out some evenings also. My dogs are walked 3 times a day unless heavy rain so I do get plenty of exercise and fresh air.

I do drink large amounts of Coffee but none after around 7 pm at night.
