I am taxed to death over here as well, and now we have to start paying for services that our taxes once covered, oh, we still pay the tax, and we just don’t get the service anymore. Oh and they are planning on bringing more ¦ OK, what they are saying is that these are not ‘taxes’ they are actually only ‘service charges’, but soon we will be getting water ‘service charges’ along with a whole bunch of other ‘service charges’.
Our government, including what they have put in so far, will be spending €24 Billion on bailing out our banks, when the combined value of the banks are only €2 Billion, and remember our population is only 4 million.
It is a nightmare beyond belief.

Now you have the government NOT fixing roads and bridges, which is its business, so that they do not have to cut the handouts to certain politically sensitive classes, which is NOT its business.
And if you even mention it, you are called a hate filled racist.

I'm a foreigner, so bear with me, please. Who is 'they'? And in a democracy, how are 'they' not doing what the majority of voters want? I don't get it. If you don't like one set of politicians, vote them out. If you can't vote them out, you are in a minority, in a country where the majority disagrees with you. ???????? What's guns got to do with this or do you think a minority, who doesn't have the numbers to outvote a party they don't like, should stage a coup d'etat, as has sometimes happened in South America??

Ok Pam. This is a VERY convoluted, complicated issue.
First off the people are fed a bunch of lies by politicians during elections. Since when do they deliver? They tell you what you want to hear, then go about business for Corps and banks not for the people. Meanwhile our standard of living slowly disintegrates, taxes and cost of living goes up ( they tax everything , sometimes double and triple taxes) we get sicker, and we wonder why?!
I better vote right or left next time?
