Downtown will be pretty much shut off to anyone with a car that is not there on any official Olympic business. Anyone going into the downtown area will have to take transit. No cars allowed unless it is VANOC provided.
I am not sure this is overkill, but we do have to provide a safe visit for all.
In the meantime, there are going to be soooooo many people p-oed if they have to get downtown for some type of business, and they are forced to take transit.

Well globally it shows the hard work and dedication of Vancouver to provide a safe environment for everybody. I guess they can either be bitter or proud of it. Again we have been there here in Calgary and many of us are still proud of how well we managed so many aspects of the 88 winter olympics.
