Someone brought something up in one of the other threads that got me thinking. What this forum (and the entire World) needs right now is a thread devoted entirely to positive statements made throughout history as well as positive statements from the people who visit this board. I would like to create this thread with the specific purpose of having a place where people post ONLY positive thoughts, statements, poems, ideas, and words.
Let this be a beacon of light for those who will fall upon hard times.
Feel free to post positive things in this thread in any language you choose to. I would like this to be for everyone and I don't want anyone to feel left out.

Like sheaves of corn He gathers you unto Himself:
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to His sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
You shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness, and let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

No problem. Don't be shy. Anything you have to say that is positive counts.

Hmm. This thread, started by a person who tends to post nothing but alarmist stories and negative attitudes.

This is fine TB but you dedicate most of your time to meticulous insight regarding gloom and things of a dark and foreboding nature. A few statements of encouragement seems kind of lazy.
Would it be possible to put as much energy and deep thought into a couple of the magnificent and glorious events that occur throughout the world on a daily basis as you do the collapse of civilization?

Guys, the rules of this thread were very simple. I don't understand why you guys can't follow them. In this thread, POSITIVE things only are to be posted.
If you want to bash me in another thread, that's fine. But this thread is for positive things only.
Now I knew this was going to happen a little bit, but if we could get past this and focus on the purpose of this thread I would greatly appreciate it.

Im not bashing. Youre a thoughtful person and I thought you may be able to come up with something of at least equal dynamic relevence to this subject as you do the other types of writing you do.
I was requesting the best of you as an alternative to the usual negativity. You didnt try very hard here.

Everything is material for the seed of happiness, if you look into it with inquisitiveness and curiosity. The future is completely open, and we are writing it moment to moment. A very positive thread.
Sometimes I think the natural tendency of getting older, and having more understanding of how the world works, leads to negativity. When we are young, most everything seems to be fit together snugly, and people seem to know what they are doing. As we get older though, we eventually see the fact that most things are held together by toothpicks and chewing gum (to keep it from flying apart) and that a lot of people "in charge" really have no clue what they are doing, or perhaps don't care.
By the same token though, things are probably better now than they have been in a long while, because more and more people are aware of problems which in the past flew under the radar. Nothing will ever improve if people do not see problems.
I wouldn't want to live in an earlier period of time. Many people like to romanticize the past, but really, it was usually a horrible and brutal time compared to the present day. The same abuses that exist now, existed then, to an even greater degree.
I always chuckle when I hear people like Ron Paul talk about how great the nation was at it's beginning. I think he has good intentions, but it might make for a humorous movie plot for him to go into a time machine back to this period: Unfortunately, due to a glitch in the machine, he enters this time period as a black female ... and he's forced to work for nothing for the rest of his life.
Overall, I think comparatively speaking, we are fortunate to live in a rather remarkable period of peace, prosperity, and scientific advancement. Just a hundred years ago, people were still riding around in horse and carriage, sh!t in a hole in the ground, and had no electric. As bad as things are for the middle class, we probably have a better standard of living than the kings of ancient times did.
So in short, IMO things could be worse. And the world is getting better.

I've come to the understanding that intention is everything in Life. If there has ever been anything you have done that caused something to happen that you never intended for, and that you feel bad about to this day, release yourself completely for that responsibility, because it is your intent that only matters when you make a choice, and if your intentions were one way, and everything went a different way, then you are not a prisoner of your own intent, and you should not feel bad about something that you never intended to happen. So let it go.

Nice way to look at it. Kind of lets one 'off the hook' so to speak.
Put another way - if you try your best, yet things still don't work out, don't harbor guilt about it.
Unfortunately, that mindset doesn't always help in certain situation, For example: Maybe you're in a tight spot financially. Feeling guilt free doesn't pay the bills. Still, striving to remain positive is probably more likely to manifest itself in a good way over time. The law of attraction thing.

Life really is like a roller coaster. When you're going up, it's the good times, calm and steady, yet fun. When you're going down, it's scary, fast paced, and stressful, but yet still has that element of enjoyment to it. And when you're going through the toughest **** you've ever had to experience, it's like your upside down and holding on for dear Life, and yet still, somehow, there's the excitement, especially after you turn back over again.
