I will be working but the ambulance will be stationed for First Night Burlington so even though I am on duty, I will get to enjoy some of the events.

Am just getting over chest infection. Have slept 12 hours a day for the last three days! Had to miss the Big Game at Twickenham on the 27th:-1 . Doubt I'll be well enough to want to go out. mmmmmmDuvet. :)

Have been noticing the weather in Ireland. Looks as though it's barely got above freezing for days... Still, I imagine the kids are loving it!

Well, I hope for you a relatively boring work night.

We plan to go out for dinner, then take in the "hog-drop" (Arkansas' variation on the ball-drop) in Fayetteville.

Thanks Kaz! Haven't felt too bad, just one of those you take care of because it could turn into something much worse - though the sleeping 12 hours a day has been a bit of a surprise. If it takes a turn for the worse I shall head for Jazzy at First Night Burlington. :wah:

What are you doing up in the coooooooold and withering North? You'll be getting the full blast of the wind where you are, won't you?

I've just had an invitation to a friend's house for some eats but it'll all be couples and I'll stick out like a sore thumb!

I may politely decline and just stay home in the warm. Mind you, there isn't a heck of a lot of heat on my little island :D

Mostly we are snowed in, this year seems to be following along the same line. We will have a nice supper, few drinks, wander over to the field to watch the dogs run and play in the snow, look up to the stars and count our blessings.

Return to watch t.v and talk to family via the phone or text.

My daughter will be on call for the emergency room so a bunch of us will play poker and see if she gets called in. Pork & saurkraut, hot dogs, kolbasa, all kinds of dips & chips & the Christmas cookies I've been promoting will be on the buffet.

Happy New Year everyone!:)

It's another day for me also.

I've been there...done that for so many years that I don't want to do it any more....too much hoopla and planning. I just hate getting dressed up anymore.

I've invited a few friends from town over, and we'll walk to our favorite Irish pub, in the afternoon, for some grub, Irish music and great beers and cosmos. We'll then walk home and put the fireplace on and have some amaretto and amaretto cheesecake.

Then they'll walk home....:wah:.....if they can....or not:wah:

I'll then log onto FG to say hello to everyone.:p

It is now 3:48 PM and it will be dark in another hour or so. The weather forecast is for clear skies tonight which means that the BLUE MOON will be visible. The last time this happened was 1990. That's where the expression "Once In A Blue Moon" comes from. At midnight I will go outside with a glass of Glenlivet 25 year old Scotch and scream "Happy New Year" and then go back inside and go to bed.
