Hello janne - and welcome to this Garden. It's not really much to do with gardening, more with general chat - but we cover a very wide area and probably have a plant section somewhere. We certainly do herbs and cooking!!

Finland is way cool !!! And I don't think we have any other Scandinavian members at the moment. I stood on my first ever frozen lake in Finland. And ate my first ever (and possibly best ever) hazelnut yoghurt in Finland. I still have an emerald and turquoise tablecloth I found in Helsinki.

Of course you're in winter now. We're in summer and it's been hot in Sydney. It's Saturday afternoon here now and I've just got back from a swim at the beach. It's quite breezy today and being Saturday, all the sailboats are out too - and getting a great run. Lots of colour on the water.

Love your signature motto by the way. Hannibal?

Oooh...

We dont condone the "evil weed" here.

I dont think we do anyway.

Hell I dont know, maybe we do condone it.

I know theres a bunch of people here that sound like theyre "on the pot" all the time.

Sometimes they go off on lengthy bizarre tangents that clearly have nothing to do with the topic at hand. Most of the time know one knows what in the hell theyre going on about.

I caught a shark in the Gulf of Mexico once. It was a little itty bitty baby shark, maybe 6" long. Sometimes I tell people I caught a shark but I dont tell them it was a baby. I like to imagine them visualizing me reeling in this blood thirsty man eating monster like Hemingways Old Man and the Sea. Then I can see them telling a friend "hey...I know a guy who caught a shark" thats me.

Anyway like I was saying, sometimes I like cold cereal with pumpernikel toast and sometimes I like hot cereal with an English muffin. I dont know which I like more, guess it depends on my mood.

Anyway, enough about you, maybe I have something interesting to say. Did you ever think maybe you could stop talking and let me get a word in?

No, I dont think you have.

How rude !

A tour, I'm afraid, that time, janne. I visited Denmark and Norway and Sweden too, and then got the boat to what was then Leningrad. I've been back to Norway and Denmark since, but not Finland. One day!!

I'm in Europe often, but these days it's mostly France, Italy or the UK.

Have you ever been to Australia?

Your English is excellent.

Oh dear, poor janne - at least he met me before he met you, Nomad!! I'm the resident goddess, janne. Nomad is the resident.. um mad scientist ninja strange person... or is it something different today, Nomie. He comes from up in the frozen wastelands of Minnesota or somewhere quite like Scandinavia - and probably eats lutefisk, pickled herrings with pumpernickel and meatballs too. Pay absolutely no attention to his ravings. :sneaky:

24 hours in a plane. Now we have noise cancelling headphones, iPods etc - it's not that bad. I plug in and chill out.

Saturday evening approaches - and I'm going out to dinner etc. Have a good evening / day. Hope to catch you later.

Hi Janne and welcome!

Although its not a gardening forum, tons of things to talk about and we do have an actual 'gardening forum' here that I am on quite a bit during the summer.

I love my perennials, hybrid tea roses, shrubs, bushes you name it, I haven't grown herbs though.

Funny this winter as my perennials are growing back again as we had such a mild winter.

Hello Janne,

Welcome to Forum Garden ! Pull up a seat and relax ! You'll find the members here are a mixed bunch of people, very friendly though, and can talk about many things. I think you will enjoy taking part here ! I live in the middle of England, and at the moment, the sun is shining but it is cold. There has been a warning of colder weather coming in from Scandinavia during next week, and I suppose there could be a little snow too !

Good to see you here ! :-6 :D

Hiya Janne,

Welcome to Forum Garden. Do you have any reindeer near where you live?

Do you ever see Santa Claus? :sneaky:

Do you have much sunlight during your day or are most of your days dark at the moment? I'd love to hear more about your lifestyle. I hope you stick around and tell us more. :)
