AVG is completely free as is AVAST, make sure you uninstall (control panel/add or remove programs) any other antivirus packages including defender and the AVG you already have.

I've used both AVG and Avast.Being using Avast for the last few years.

Both are great. Avast has detected a few incoming viruses over that time, and eradicated them before they could set up and do damage.

Yep I use that as a back up to my Spyware Doctor. Both have been fantastic.

I subscribe to Spyware Doctor, with an anti-virus engine after, I think Floppy recommended it a few years back when I contracted a severe virus and it was the only thing to touch it.

I have AVG on the laptop which works great
