HD-DVD vs. Blue-Ray
I don't just remember I have them. just sold a Beta at a garage sale..:wah:
I'm not High-Tec by any means - the winner is
Blue-Ray no doubt about it..
OK - off to listen to music on my Reel to Reel tape - it's cool, works like new.

Blu has taken on the lions share of commercial marketing and theres a growing commitment in getting blu films in the market. I dont think its any longer as controversial as Beta vs VHS was.
Blu has built a pretty solid foundation.

Life is just to short for drama.

It's down to cost. the advantage is not that great for people to be prepared to spend the extra-especially if you have young kids and are on a budget. beta max was better than vhs but lost on cost. at least that's y tuppence worth

Wal Marts got blu ray for 98 bucks. I know you can get a basic DVD player for half that but the price makes it attractive if someone were considering it.
Not sure if Scotland has Wal Mart....God I hope not.

They took over one of the big supermarket chains here-asda now it's asda walmart. They face fairly strong competition and competition laws stop them buying up chains of stores all over the country so they can't reach the dominance they have in the states. There's one superstore locally but three others rival company's superstores all within five minutes drive of each other as well as two supermarket chains stores owned by a german company. Lot of people where I live

Blue-rays offer much better so I would go with it. HD-DVDs are history now but many peoples still use it. :-2
sprinkler and irrigation installation and repair
HD-DVD vs. Blue-Ray
I have a collection of around 2,000 DVDs and only recently purchased a Blue-Ray player and I'm content with all of those old DVDs playing on my 55" Plasma screen connected via an HDMI cable to an HD-DVD player. Blue Ray is far superior, but what to do about all of those old DVDs... many of which aren't even available on Blue Ray, yet.
Back in the day, Beta was superior to VHS, but who won that battle?
