Yes... My best friends husband was punched in the face and had to have stitches to his mouth and dentistry work. One member of staff was punched in the face and bruised his cheekbone. The other (all our close friends) was punched in the head and was cut. The front of the shop was also kicked in and all the glass shattered.

You see Kev, the poor little children had far too much too drink and just didn't know what they were doing. They were good kids really and were very very sorry for their actions your Honour. In fact, they were so remorseful, that when they came back for some more of the same and I had to get police out to them again, it was really only because they had come to buy some fries.

Yeah right !!!!!!!!!!! :yh_rotfl

They have been refered to the Restorative Justice system and this means they must carry out un-paid work in the community. The good part Is that WE get to say what they do. One was sentenced a couple of weeks ago and I asked for them to clean the Streets and war memorial, They are put in high vis Jackets and escorted to the work and over-seen by a police Officer. If they don't do it, they are back in court.

Believe It not, he actually flew out to Turkey to get his teeth fixed. He claims they are better than us. :wah: Expensive treatment.

Oh sorry I wasn't familiar with the "Restorative Justice system". I suppose I assumed it meant they were to restore the dignity of these "lads". :yh_wink

...

Hopefully serving to be their bosses personally won't encourage them to come back.

It sounds crazy, but one of the options in the programme is that they carry out un-paid work for the victem. Yeah right.... Coz you really want the rascist yob who punched you in the face, chopping up your veg with your best knife don't you?:rolleyes: Only Gordon Brown could think that one up !!!!

It gets better than that. I was at a police / Residents meeting where a Police Officer was talking us through this programme. I argued with the Police ' So, let's get this right... The scroat breaks into your home, steals your precious goods.... and his 'punishment' is, that he then comes to your home to do work on the house for you? And should the scroat who broke into your home, happen to slip on your wet path, he can then sue the backside off of you???????? Errrrrrrrrr Yes, that's correct. :yh_rotfl Yep, another great Idea by the Labour Government.

So if one decides to have the criminals do work for them would the victims be at all permitted to have the criminals work anywhere they choose?

Odie you have been misinformed, there WERE parents at Oscars trial, there were three in the court room. And... 5 downstairs in the witness room.:-5

I know that we have been warned about talking about that trial, but I cant hear lies being bounded about.

There is a lot more to this than I will go into, as I do not want to be banned and enjoy visiting the Forum garden.

So I will refrain from saying anymore, all I will say is that you cannot compare this to the children (victims) in that trial.

I think you have got the wrong trial LLB. Perhaps you should have read the OP more carefully! Correct me if I am wrong Oscar, but is this thread about an attack on your ethnic neighbours?

Lou Lou,

Odie was not misinformed. Gill is right. This thread has nothing to do with Oscar's trial that you were involved in. Oscar is talking about an issue that happened with friends of hers.

Please leave her alone. It's been peaceful here...

Hello Oscar :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I think the LLB is offline at present. She really should do her homework a little more conscientiously, don't you think? A case of FIM disease

How are LLB's comments not relevant? All LLB has done is clear up the fact that parents were present at Oscar's trial, Oscar herself brought that up, no one else, look back to the above quoted post!

Betty,

This thread has nothing to do with Oscar's case that involved Lou Lou. It has to do with another case that her friends are involved in and has nothing to do with Lou Lou.

How is Lou Lou's post relevant when she wasn't at this case?

I know that Kathy, I have read the whole thread, the point is Oscar made a comment about her trial, see the quoted post in my previous post where Oscar states it was the same as in her case, therefore Oscar brought her case into this thread.

Actually, Kathy, I think BB may have a point, if you check the quote BB used above!

Oscar did indicate that no parents were present at her trial of over a year ago! But I do think that that particular trial should be left on the back burner now, otherwise all sorts of stuff will re-imerge, and that would not be a good idea in my opinion.

I think we should just let that one be. OK?

For one, ( I can not go into details), our local police are fighting a 50 strong gang at the moment that are coming into our area from other area's purely to assault and mug. it has been a nightmare for them.

For two, on Halloween night, our little Tesco Expess had to shut early which inconvienences everyone in the community. The police got there very quickly and I actually defended them by telling the police they had done nothing wrong. One officer quite rightly said 'To have a gang of approx 30 youths in a doorway of a shop Intimidating residents is totally unacceptable and wrong. I could not disagree with him. I happened to know some of the teenagers and knew they would not harm anyone but look at It from the point of view from an old lady who wanted to come out to get a pint of milk and wouldn't dare due to that gang? That's when It is wrong, when they stop everyday people going about their lives.

Unless you live in some tiny corner of the British Isles that has not heard of Anti-Social behaviour, you have no Idea.

The only reason, I baby sit that take-away weekends for our friends is due to the trouble and It is not the drunks coming out of pubs at midnight.... It is all night long and it is always kids and teenagers who have nothing better to do and no-where to go. Try going into a town at 11 oclock at night and see how many drunk and doped up teenagers there are out on the streets. The parents have no Idea of who they are with, where they are or what they are doing. You can not judge an area going by what you see at midday in a shopping centre.

:yh_rotfl Of course, I live in an area that in your perception has no contact with the real world.

Thank you:-6 It seems quite obvious does It not why excatly Lou Lou belle joined this forum and is still here today. She has not posted on any other thread for weeks but seems only to hone in on anything that relates to my trial a year ago. I am not taking this thread off topic but I will set the record straight. I, my husband, many many members of the Royal British Legion and other witnesses were with me very early on the day the youths gave evidence in my trial. We saw the arrive and gather. There was NOT a parent between them. It is NOT just my say so. It was a very small public gallery and we knew exactly who was in it for the four days. Any number of witnesses will bear this out. Also in court yesterday with my friends, we met again with the exact same witness support team and we discussed at length who and what was at my trial. I know exactly who was in the witness rooms. Lou Lou Belle, If you want to dispute this... then contact your solicitor and prove It to me and I will contact mine instead of Involving the good people of this forum in your quest to save grace.

As Kathy rightly said, The Garden has been peacefull. The members here are bored silly with the never ending story. We have all moved on in life, so maybe you should try that also. You say there were parents there... i say there was not. members can make up their own minds who they want to believe.

Now back to the topic of this thread. I would like to congratulate the local police here on the spectacular way they dealt with the hoards of teenagers gathering on the war memorial last night after two major firework displays. Also, the kids were fantastically well behaved and filled my poppy tin. :-6:-6:-6

Yes, fantastic.

We knew Halloween night was going to be tricky, so I e mailed my favourite Officer and he came in the shop on the night to re-assure us that they were all out in force. Where I live is a little hotspot for yobs because It's so dark at night, so I was really impressed to see Police on foot on the beat that night. When they came in the shop they said they would check my lane and sure enough came back later to tell me all was quiet but my dogs were barking. Now, that IS working for the community !!! And we need more Officers like that. There was trouble Halloween night but it was in another area and we had a very good night.

Last night, there was two major organised firework displays within two miles of each other, starting and ending at the same time. Around 9 pm, we must have had up to 100 teenagers and kids all wanting serving at the same time in the shop. It was madness but the kids were all very well behaved. I didn't have to call police but they did attend and moved large groups on. A car sat outside for quite some time just keeping an eye on things. One of our busiest nights of the year and it was without incident so I can't praise the local Officers enough.

But seriously......my missus is involved in community relations whatever that means and local thingies.....I'm not............obviously.

The emails I have been getting from the local old bill (we share the same account....she is computer illiterate) tell me they have a heightened presence during halloween and bonfire night to pre-empt any problems.

So.....your nice local bobby is possibly just following orders....and taking the acclaim....sneaky bugger.

Good for your missus mate. Yeah, 'Community relations' ... me too:wah:

We got an e mail also telling us there would be a heightened presence so they go out by course but I e mailed this officer due to my worry about the take-away which is where the the youths make a bee line for. The fact that he did bother to call in personally and re-assure my friends, especially after the assaults by yobs there, was very good of him. That's what I meant about serving the community... bothering to call in and re-assure. I won't go into details but that Officer has been Involved in a few Incidents here of late involving youths and he's been brilliant, even when there has been no sign of a quick arrest for him. That's real police work... stopping it before it starts and not waiting until It's happened to get a notch on his truncheon from a quick arrest.

We got another e mail re: Halloween night soon after and there was quite a bit of trouble but thankfully, not our area. I don't care if they were under orders or not... they were brilliant. Last night after the firework displays had finished and up to 100 kids were on the memorial eating their take-aways, he was over there making sure they didn't drop litter. We need more Officers with those morals and values.

One of the saddest sights I saw was one Xmas, we went up there Boxing day and It was pouring with rain and freezing cold. The same old kids were there huddled in a shop doorway on Boxing day FFS !! We asked them where there families were and they said they didn't know.... very sad.

We get them here hanging out at coffee shops and malls.

Parents are usually visiting boxing day or just relaxing, most teens won't be part of either..teens always prefer their friends...its just normal, mine did also.

One of the things about these teenagers that I notice every weekend, Is half of them can bearly string a sentence together. That sounds awful but I'm afraid true. Some can only communicate in monosyllabic grunts. No please or Thankyou or the manners of a gnat. You wonder what on earth the parents have dragged them up like. Then you have to wonder what fantastic career they will have in Life with such lack of social graces or skills. Again, we can only blame the parents who Obviousley don't care how their kid comes across in public, or maybe they are worse than the kid. I really do look at some of these kids and think 'My god, what hope have you got in life'? You can ride a bike... well done Indeed, that will get you a career won't it.? It worries me that they are Britians future. There was a brilliant Column in the Mail today by one of their Journalists which is far too long to post, who rightly said that manners today are taught in rehabilitation Centres after the kid has got into trouble and not before because the parents don't have any manners. I'm not necessarily talking about local youths as we get alot come in from other area's. Perhaps some of these parents need training in social skills. Infact, we have got a private joke between us in the shop where If a kid says Please and Thankyou, we call them 'Tourists.'

As for parents, we just had a big discussion on this tuesday in class. Something needs to be done about the deprivation that seems to breed this type.

Sorry Raven, I missed your post. I think no-one has said truer words there. Those are usually the Parents who are so dumb themselves they actually believe what little Johnny tells them when he says he's only been at a mates house for the evening or down the Park. They should try following them for a week and see exactly what they do when out, who they are out with and where they are. God, what an eye-opener that would be for some!!! But then, you get some parents who have absolutely no morals or ethics themselves, who do know exactly what an abusive yob their kid is but doesn't actually care enough about other people to do anything about It because they are also guilty of thinking the Country owes them a living.

Infact, we have got a private joke between us in the shop where If a kid says Please and Thankyou, we call them 'Tourists.'

they could very well be homeless.

we have thousands of homeless teens here.

for them to not be able to speak english, I would say its the parents fault and also allowing them to run free.
