It is now 54F/11C and rainy. Hopefully the rain will let us this afternoon.

I need to get out and go for a long walk along the beach, and clean up my yard from the mess that the wind brought in....ciggie buts and garbage from other's yards:(

We've been having a number of earthquakes lately, small ones but the epicenter is very close. 9-20 miles away. The latest was this morning @ 3 am. Only a 4.1 but it woke me up. Makes me wonder if a big one is coming our way.

Was raining and blowing a gale all morning. Forecast had suggested it would be like that all day, so I went for my walk at 10 am and got back at 1 pm.

It has now (2:30 pm) cleared up, the sun is shining and it's a gorgeous, mild November day. :wah:

Serious question: Do Californians regard earthquakes as sort of part of the weather? Or was this just a good place to put the comment?

I'm a cowardy custard. Don't think you could get me to live near the San Andreas for love nor money. Maybe I've just been watching too many documentaries...

Very good question. I suppose earthquakes are not technically "weather". I Googled it to see what the experts say.

I feel pretty cowardly while my furniture is swaying and walls moving or when the pavement is heaving, as in a large earthquake I was in.

Crikey mate. I don't blame you at all. I can't think of many things more scary than solid ground NOT being solid.

So Californians DO sort of think of earthquakes in the same headspace as weather? Something like, "It's going to happen, so just keep an eye on the forecast and prepare accordingly"?

I went out as a witch with green hair...got some candy, etc., went to 2 haunted walks, came home & watch the baseball game..kid slept over a friends house..nice evening:wah:

The weather is beautiful here today!!! I believe it's in the upper 70's, but it feels like it's around 80F or so. I rolled out my new easel onto the huge wraparound porch and painted this beautiful scene just down over the hill into the valley below... should make for a very nice oil painting! :-6
