Ever been snubbed?

Post by hoppy »

So, how did you react? Recently I was to a family wedding. After the "I do's", the guests filed by shaking hands with the groom and hugging the bride. My turn came. I shook the groom's hand and turned to hug the bride. She made it clear she didn't want me hugging her. So, I turned and hugged the groom.

Now, I'm on the family's sh!t list for snubbing the bride, ruining her wedding day, p!ssing off her family, blah, blah blah. I skipped the reception to avoid the follow up fight. I admit, I could have avoided all the theatrics but, I do what the voices tell me. :)

So, what would you have done, had you been in my shoes?

you didn't snub the bride......she snubbed you.;)

I cannot imagine anyone being so immature and childish at her own wedding.

It's damn well embarrassing when someone refuses a hug, I would have just moved on down the line.

that's nasty that you had to leave the reception, it was her fault.

Godzilla bride that one was.

If I had been in your shoes Hops, I would have stayed for the reception. I would have eaten all their food, drunk all their drink and offended all the bride's family. I would have started the fight before anyone else did have the entire Police force come to break it up.

I don't blame you at all for leaving, in your shoes I'd have been tempted too.

I went to a relative of my husband's wedding last year, I'd never met the bride before but she was as warm and welcoming to me as everyone else - that is how the bride at the wedding you attended should have behaved.

If she's so ungracious not to hug a guest that she's invited then sod her! :D

You should have stayed, she was the one being a snot.

You just ignore people like that-even if it is a member of the bridal party. Just make sure at Thanksgiving you sit next to her, and at Christmas across the table from her, anything to bug her in the future for awhile. :lips:

Oh, we'll be together again at Christmas etc. This could be fun. I'm thinking up embarrasing gifts to give her at family gatherings, if I'm invited to any more.:wah:

Pretend you're drunk off your rear and just keep trying to hug her the whole time! Kiss her on the cheek. Go to a large womens store and get her a shirt that is the biggest size you can find! :wah:

We think alike. Later I was wishing I'd given her a long, hard hug, grabbing her rear the whole time.:yh_rotfl

I like the way you think!

I'd have gone to the reception and kept kissing and hugging her.

Hoppy, since she was the bride, she should've just graciously accepted your hug instead of putting you on the spot like that. There was nothing wrong about you hugging the groom after that. You did the right thing. You are gracious, she is not-shame on her ! I have been snubbed before in the past, so I know how you feel. It is a horrible feeling, and makes me feel like an unwanted virus or something. Nobody should ever feel like an unwanted virus.

Test kit for STD's

I think this goes with #11....adult "diapers"

Lots of hand sanitizer to use everytime you touch her.

Oh, and get a large firm banana to put you know where for when you give her big hugs!!! :D
