To be honest until now I never even knew Jagger had written so many of the Stones music.

Still gotta be McCartney though.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

Never understood why there needs to be a "either or " with the Stones and Beatles. They both contributed heavily and influenced many. I love them both, as most do

I was a small child in the 60's but would play my brothers and sisters records all the time. All through those years, not one Beatles record ever entered our family home and since then, not one Beatles record has ever entered my home. When Pete plays his Micheal Jackson, he fast forwards the track 'Say Say Say' as he can't stand him either.

What ever happened to that Brit-pratt who claimed that his band was better than The Beatles? I can't remember who said it, just remember that it was said. :wah:

Let's compare the lyrical genious of the two.

First... Sympathy for the Devil written by Jagger

Please allow me to introduce myself

Im a man of wealth and taste

Ive been around for a long, long year

Stole many a mans soul and faith

And I was round when jesus christ

Had his moment of doubt and pain

Made damn sure that pilate

Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you

Hope you guess my name

But whats puzzling you

Is the nature of my game

I stuck around st. petersburg

When I saw it was a time for a change

Killed the czar and his ministers

Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank

Held a generals rank

When the blitzkrieg raged

And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you

Hope you guess my name,

Ah, whats puzzling you

Is the nature of my game,

I watched with glee

While your kings and queens

Fought for ten decades

For the gods they made

I shouted out,

Who killed the kennedys?

When after all

It was you and me

Let me please introduce myself

Im a man of wealth and taste

And I laid traps for troubadours

Who get killed before they reached bombay

Pleased to meet you

Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah

But whats puzzling you

Is the nature of my game, Pleased to meet you

Hope you guessed my name,

But whats confusing you

Is just the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal

And all the sinners saints

As heads is tails

Just call me lucifer

cause Im in need of some restraint

So if you meet me

Have some courtesy

Have some sympathy, and some taste

Use all your well-learned politesse

Or Ill lay your soul to waste,

Pleased to meet you

Hope you guessed my name

But whats puzzling you

Is the nature of my game

Tell me baby, whats my name

Tell me honey, can ya guess my name

Tell me baby, whats my name

I tell you one time, youre to blame

Now... Hey Jude by McCartney.

Na na na na na ,na na na, hey jude...

Another example :wah:

Mothers Little Helper By Mick Jagger

What a drag it is getting old

"Kids are different today"

I hear ev'ry mother say

Mother needs something today to calm her down

And though she's not really ill

There's a little yellow pill

She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper

And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day

"Things are different today"

I hear ev'ry mother say

Cooking fresh food for a husband's just a drag

So she buys an instant cake and she burns her frozen steak

And goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper

And two help her on her way, get her through her busy day

Doctor please, some more of these

Outside the door, she took four more

What a drag it is getting old

"Men just aren't the same today"

I hear ev'ry mother say

They just don't appreciate that you get tired

They're so hard to satisfy, You can tranquilize your mind

So go running for the shelter of a mother's little helper

And four help you through the night, help to minimize your plight

Doctor please, some more of these

Outside the door, she took four more

What a drag it is getting old

"Life's just much too hard today,"

I hear ev'ry mother say

The pursuit of happiness just seems a bore

And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose

No more running for the shelter of a mother's little helper

They just helped you on your way, through your busy dying day

And 'All you need is love' by The Beatles.

All you need is love, all you need is love,

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

All you need is love (all together now)

All you need is love (everybody)

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

Repeat 172 times to string out tedious comeback concert.
