Anybody know about this Mercola chappie?

Post by Clodhopper »

I have a friend who's Mum is suffering from Alzheimer's.

She's found the website below and is paying a lot of attention to what he says.

Now, this Mercola bloke may be good and honest; or he may be a quack trying to make a quick buck. I've never heard of him. Does anyone know about him?

Everything is screaming con to me, mate. Especially the 'worlds most popular NATURAL health newsletter. And no M.D. behind his name is bad as well. ALL U.S. physicians have M.D. credentials following their name. Means medical doctor. His lack of them screams quack. Warn her off. Those people are dangerous, and can send folks to an early grave. And broke to boot.

Thanks Raven - that's very much my concern. Unsurprisingly my friend is a touch vulnerable at the moment...

I'm not here to throw spanners in the works but I noticed he is a D.O. which suggests he is qualified to prescribe medicine and perform surgery

What is a D.O.?

However, there is an entry here in Wikipedia....

Joseph Mercola - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He's certainly a controversial figure in the field
"He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire."

That means he's an osteopath, doesn't it? Don't know US qualifications.
