Post by princessladedah »

My son is a senior this year , he wanted to be home schooled because of drug pressure, so my ex-husband and I said ok, he wanted a car we said ok, my fiance got him a job on a tug boat all summer we said ok, now, that he will be 18 in December, his attitude SUKS, my ex and I live 2 streets apart, my son lives with us equally , comes here for the 52 inch tv and fiance is a gormet chef, and the computer and me, soon as he doesnt get what he wants wham goes to dad, blew the the job and is REALLY REALLY IMATURE!!!!!!! I have had it, all I hear is "I need some money" He will not help around the house , he is not dependable, I am not an enabler, I am ready to say stay at dads until you learn to respect others""""""""""":-5

who bought him the Car

I would set down some house rules, if he dosent like them tough let him go live with his dad.

You are his mum he will always love you no matter what but in the long run he will respect you much more if you do the tough mum act.

My yougest son is 22 and no way were we buying him a car so he still dosent have one, we also had house rules which he hated but now he is older he understands and is a better person for it:D

good luck as I know how hard it is :-4

who bought him a car at 17 years old?

to me, he should have worked and saved his own money for a car, like my son did at his age.

since he is acting like a spoiled brat..give him a choice....live by your rules....or he's out.
Life is just to short for drama.

I think odie and Kaylenaussie are right. Lay down the rules. And then hold to them (the tricky bit). I'm talking from my teaching experience here.

Senior or not, he's not an adult yet as his attitude shows.
The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"

Lone voice: "I'm not."

If he acts as a child, treat him as a child. Preface this with clear guidelines as to whats expected of him. Stick to your guns. Teach him how to become independent and make sure he understands whats coming. Prepare him or hes in for a rude awakening.

It brings Bill Bailey's song "On the self-pitying whine of modern rock in America" from Part Troll to mind...You picked me up from school

You attended all my sporting functions

You bought me a car

Gave me use of a credit card

But how can I feel pain,

How can I feel pain,

How can I feel pain
