Catchment Areas NHS
Please, does anyone know of a map showing the Catchment areas of Hospitals in London or the South East of England for Cardiovascular treatment? Or a website. I am looking to move and realise the nearest hospital in a location may not be the one to which a patient would be referred. On occasion my Hub. has to be admitted to hospital a lot. Sometimes I have liked a house then NOT the nearest hopsital. I know there is a scheme to allow some degree of patient choice but this this can't take place on a 999 call or if complex surgery /specialst treatment is required.

You might be better off talking to a nurse in the hospital your husband currently attends. The problem is that some hospitals are specialist hospitals and so will take people who need that specialism, from pretty much anywhere around the country.
Secondly, doctors are granted a set amount of funds each year. So you can find that one area has doctors who will offer a wide range of NHS facilities, because they have the funding, and another area will have a huge amount of patients needing specialised care, leaving only limited funds for any new patients needs. So you may not be able to get the referrals you need as quickly as you need them.
Your best bet is either to do indepth research into the hospitals to find the best for your husband, or move to a wealthy area where there will be less NHS patients and so more funding available for local doctors.

Thanks for these.
My husband has now a lot of confidence/faith in the two hospitals he is under so it could be good if he were allowed to travel down/across and continue.
I WAS thinking about going somewhere a little rural - ish. Mind you, "so" many homes have been pledged to be built in the South East I'll have to go up a mountain and wait for the homes to reach us 5 streets a year!
