I agree Odie and Chonsi.

But, unfortunately we can't download lots of stuff on my school computer, especially Youtube as lots of their videos are questionable. I will try to download the gorilla site when I can log onto my school site, but I doubt if it is possible...

That is a shame maybe you can talk to the IT people and get it off the blocked list as it is educational.

Their inside camera has been out for a few days. I emailed them about it but no response as yet, most likely my email went to SPAM or Junkmail. :)

Oh, this is soooooooooooooooooo sad Odie. I think that we've all mailed them...I gave up after sending 3 emails. It was also great when the outside camera zoomed in closer to the hut...then you could see the fellas near the tree.

What are we gonna do without our gorilla fix:-1:-1:-1

I just got an email from Lucy, a PR Manager for the Bristol Zoo.

She thanked us all for emailing her about the problem with the indoor cam. They're aware of the problem and are trying to fix it. That's it:confused: How long does it take to fix a camera....

You're right Carla...I didn't notice that in the beginning. I watched this video again on full screen. It seems that both of the gorillas were holding their ears at times. Did you notice in the end, another gorilla came and took the baby away to another area?

They all seem depressed or bored...even the baby is quiet.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I worry about the gorillas lately. They seem bored and their area really looks messy at times. Just wondering if they have enought things to stimulate them and how often their area is cleaned....

Geeze, even the baby doesn't seem to play much. They hardly seem to be outside.

Right...they're gorillas and should be outside more...even in the rain....

I really think that zoos should have more things to stimulate the animals. For sure, they like to play, explore and investigate.

There doesn't seem to be anything around for them to play with....This is why I question whether or not animals should be put into zoos. At least if they're in a preserve, they can roam around a bit.

They just don't look like happy campers:thinking::(

they need tress is what they need, or something to climb on and roll about.

it does look boring out there, they used to play by the hut, but I think they are bored of that........I hate seeing animals locked up.:-5:-5

Me too, and I've changed my mind about zoos. I love going to zoos because you can see animals that you wouldn't otherwise be able to see up close, but the more I see animals in zoos the more I think it just wrong for us to put them there for our pleasure.

I love our Toronto Zoo as it has gigantic places for some, but have seen other animals en glassed in small areas....especially reptiles and they need places to roam, and investigate.

nothing I despise worse is seeing a 8 foot snake that can barely turn around.

these gorillas seem to have enough space......but that's the problem, to much space and no activities.

No animal in captivity has the perfect world for them. I for one hate Sea World I physically can't go there. Having huge Whales in tank makes me ill. They have no where to go back and forth.

I was over the top angry about our Polar Bear enclosure here at the San Diego Zoo it was hot void of an environment they would be familiar with. I voiced my complaints constantly. Now they have a beautiful Polar Bear friendly enclosure and they love it. I know my 1 complaint didn't make it happen but like to think it did. ;)

As for this group of Gorilla's I must say they are very well cared for in every aspect. Yesterday they moved the outside camera to the play area for just a brief moment. I can tell you they have a huge area with swings, more beds, ropes and lot of fun things to do. The Island is much bigger than we are given a window to see into.

They come in when it rains they have learned that they have a place to go so why not stay dry. I see them out in the rain now and then but only if there is food to get. ;)

My guy JOCK is always looking for food 24/7 he will wait patiently for hours to be first in line so to speak.

I want to see if they go out in the snow in the winter time........

I think it is a very nice zoo, there is lots more room than 2 cameras show. As long as the cameras show them, I'm the happy girl!

I remember the San Diego Zoo from the old days, it is so much more modern with improved areas for the animals. I always loved that zoo.

For a very long time I have felt that zoos are glorified prisons for animals that are meant to be able to roam freely in their chosen territory.

That's good to know Carla...makes me feel better. I thought they only had a small area to roam around in, and thought that glass enclosed area was where they slept at night. Thanks for the info.

My goodness it's murky dark overcast at the zoo this morning. I took this of Namoki today to show part of the outdoor climbing frame but it's not the sort of light for clarity, not with my toy camera.

I could not agree more. One of our smaller zoos had a pitifully small polar bear enclosure and the two bears paced frantically. After observing them for some time I came to the conclusion they were both mentally scarred. I could sense they were completely bonkers. It was sad not to mention infuriatingly cruel.
