Have you ever been a snoop?

Post by chonsigirl »

Last week of summer, I'm clearing out lots of stuff. Boxes stacked in one room for almost five years. I was down to the last box, my husband's of course. I had to condense it into the container left, then the bedroom floor is finally free of stuff! (so I have an exercise area for the school year)

Well, of course I had to look at what I was renting out. Old yearsbooks, yeah, save those for him. Certificates of stuff. Yup, that goes in the new container. Old Playboys, in the trash bin.

Oh, a letter from his mom, 1981.

Did I read it.

Yup.

All ten pages.

Now I know the family secrets I never knew.

Good grief, what a snoop I am! Should have left it alone! Lucky me, he'll never know. :-3

Now tell me, have you ever snooped around too?

Yes:o

When we left the farm we had to clean out all our inlaws papers etc.

Some very interesting things were found:lips:

We did find all the families old school bank books & gave them to each one, they really loved that.:-6

I don't call it snooping I call it good parenting.

Usually we wait until people have passed on to go through their papers. But in your case Chonsi you have every right to do it now.

Dad told us lots when my Nan died (it's part of our family history) if you don't want people to know, Don't write it down, or burn the letters and so forth after recieving them. I think people deliberately keep things for hte purpose of allowing others to know things.........sort of a dying last word on life. As I said before I learnt a lot about my fathers mother she was a bitch (but we all knew that anyway) we just didn't know to what extent. Taught us a few lessons of life.:)

A letter dated 81 is hardly snooping.....

It is when you read a current diary or letter......and no I wouldn't, in fact couldn't do that.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

After my dad died I was cleaning out an old safe he had in the basement. I found five wills he made out, dated years apart I was only in the first one. He willed me any furniture I wanted. Whoopee. Seems every time he got mad at one of us, he would change the will. In one will he left totally everything to my nephew and neice.

Oh hoppy that sucks.......My dad found out by reading old letters that his mother tried to adopt him and his brother out when he was two she only wanted the youngest. We tried to tell him that it was because it was the war years....but he said they were rich so it had nothing to do with finances, just that her boyfriend (when his dad was busy being a POW) only wanted her and the youngest to run away with him. ................:-5:-5:-5:-5:-5

How's that for a legacy to leave your children?

I have snooped my fair share, from emails to text messages. Only when given a reason to mind you but a woman's instinct is almost always right. Every single time, (every time!) I found what I expected to find.

The only time I found something when I didn't expect to was when I was dating this guy back in 05. He was a preacher of all things (you'd think he knew better) and was on a mission trip in Russia. We were on the phone one day, he was in a lay over in Paris and he gave me his email info to go in and retrieve some contact information for him. So I did, and literally out of the corner of my eye I saw an email from some ridiculously cheesy aol screenname (sexybabysomethinorother), also saw it had an attachment so I opened it and low and behold BOOBS. I then proceeded to his sent box and low and behold, yes, you guessed it, his manhood.

It happened to be prior to us meeting so I did forgive him but seriously it didn't leave a good impression on me about him at all.

Eeee-yep.............worse is the excuses afterward and them turning the whole situation around about you being a snoop????????? In some things it's saved me a whole lotta heartache.

My thing these days is ........Everything I write is open to you , my phone calls, my mail, my email, my texts....................why arent' yours open to me? If that doesn't go down well then they are booted.

Amen to that. New "mistakes" (as I've come to refer to them) just have to deal with the trust issues.

Guess he wasn't thinking...what an arse:-5. Usually I don't look/answer my hubs cell, but one morning he left it at home & a text came through...I opened it...it was a naked overweight woman...I was steamed as the guy who sent it said to the effect that he hoped John's wife didn't look like her...talk about pissed off...I'm only 125 lbs...I texted him back & called him a pig. Anyways he thought John was texting him back, lol & responded to which I texted him again and said "Hi, I just wanted to let you know arsehole, that John left his phone at home, your a pig & hubs really doesn't enjoy your stupid, sexist, nudie pix of women'. Hubs has since received no pix of late that I know of...I do look

Me? A snoop? Another outrageous falsehood:yh_rotfl...from where I'm sitting I have a birds eye view of all the goings on my street. The other day the kid across the street brought over his mom's keys..I had to look to see who they belonged to as her license was also in there, along with her credit card:sneaky:. I gave it back.

I did once and got some great information. I now take the persona of my sister-in-laws husband. I’m known as “Accountable! (insert The Incredibles theme song here).:driving:

JOKES Accountable.......just jokes! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I would never in any circumstances snoop on any-one. It is a blatent invasion of privacy.

Won't be long... Just going to go through my husbands pockets while he's out.
