Hello everyone :-3

Just joined and thought i'd say hi properly *waves*

My name is Lynn, im 35 and live in Loch Lomond, Scotland with my hubby and our pets. Ive been mad about animals since i was a wee lassie and well basically i prefer them to children so thats what we have instead! Luckily my other half agrees, at least he did when we met 10 years ago, perhaps i should double check he still feels the same :wah:

I work as a dental nurse and have done since i left school (which wasnt yesterday sadly) and ive seen some sights over the years that would make your toes curl! :lips:

When im not working or playing with my furry friends i can usually be found watching a horror film while eating large quantities of chocolate. Two of my most favourite things :-4

I have a terrible phobia of spiders which leads back to something awful that happened when i was a wee girl, and im allergic to cling film :o Im also extremely accident prone and could hurt myself in an empty room (hence the nickname)

Anyway i joined this forum in the hope of making some new friends so im off for a good nosey round the place! :D

G'day Oops! I'll be kind and not post the usual Aussie welcome redback spidee pic!!

I have actually been to Loch Lomond, though long ago - have a vague recollection of mist and rain and staying in a sort of castle with big curtains to keep out the draughts - and it was all somehow fantastic.

I dont think we have any here in the UK that can bite though...do we...

oh my god Fuzzy i feel sick and speechless (which is a first lol)

im actually really envious of you being able to do that!

when i was about 6 or 7 we moved into a flat and we had an unusually large amount of spiders. It got so bad that my mum had to call out the Enviromental Health. They found a nest inside our boiler in the bathroom, and when they uncovered the panel it was like something out of Arachnaphobia, big ones, small ones, and dead ones everywhere. Since then i just cant bear to be near one. I have actually thought of trying hypnosis as it can really get quite bad if i encounter any :-1

the one one the far left, thats not real is it!? On the good advice of my pal, I tried to delete the images of the spiders for you and wiped my whole post. I have never had a problem with them infact I have one who lives in my airing cupboard called 'Colin' so I don't understand the fear but I apologise If I caused you distress. I can assure you that most spiders are more afraid of you than you are of them and It's why they scuttle.

Here is a nicer pic for you :-6

Sorry we just got Hail and it was coming in sideways. I had all the windows open.:yh_rotfl

umm yeah sorry I don't like all spiders i'm careful around the wood piles because of the red backs. But they prefer to keep to themselves.

Hunstmans fangs are really short and can only penetrate insects bodies so we tend to feed them if they are hanging around . And like i said earlier They tell us when it's going to rain. A week before long periods of rain they tend to look for shelter. That means they come into the house. we usually name them and pop them outside again.

As spiders go its very impressive!

Thanks for putting it back up for a bit. Ive shown it to Ray so you can take it back down now if you want.

When you said about them being good for gauging rain, do they come into the house if its about to rain? Or do they carry little umbrellas :p

Im really glad we dont have them like that here, i dont think my heart could cope with those to be honest!

You should try to let the anger go. You'll feel better.

I dont know what happened, maybe the neighbors cat tipped your trash over or you stepped in dog poo, whatever it is for your own personal well being you should try to move on.

Good luck.
