'Chuntering' was invented by the Labour MP Neil Kinnock. Although Chuntering died out some-what under the Blair/Bush governments, there are still small pockets of chunterers dotted around the British Isles. They can be spotted easily as along with double glazing sales-men, they are the one's sitting in corners talking to themselves. Chunterers often suffer from inflated ego's believing that indiginous English folk find them funny. Their material is usually the criminal act of plagiarism although Scotland Yard are determined to stamp out chunterers under the Anti-terrorism act. Small colonies of chunterers can be found around the country but the largest colonie is situated in Bracknell in England. It is here that you will find chuntering at it's extreme in local bars where groups of chunterers gather in a bid to impress local folk. The anti-chuntering squad came into being after locals were dying mysterious deaths. Due to advancements in forensics, it was found that they had been chuntered to death. This is a slow painfull death where a non chunterers brain slowly dies a death listening to a chunterer boost his ego.

I urge you people of England...... join the anti-chuntering squad and rid our green and pleasent land of chunterers once and for all.

Yes, this a classic sign of a master-bater when his one brain cell has died of lonliness, resorts to childish insults. This makes even chunterers look intelligent. :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

BREAKING NEWS

News has just reached the BBC that four chunterers have been arrested in Bracknell, England after a series of mysterious deaths. Coroners report that the deaths were slow and painful due to extreme chuntering. The arrested men are believed to be responsible for a serious of deaths after sitting in a corner of a local pub trying to boost their ego by using stale material belonging to Bob Monkhouse in a pitifull attempt to impress and boost their ego.

Outside Downing Street, the Prime Minister of Great Britain gave his opinion when he said:

: Chuntering has to be out-lawed. It is the cruellest form of torture of decent law abiding folk. The government is backing the anti-chuntering squad and will be sending out 'battlebuses' to flush out rogue chunterers. I urge you, people of Britain, if you see a chunterer, do not approach them. Their stale material and catch phrases stolen from intelligent folk on facebook are extremely dangerous if listened to at lenght. They are easy to spot as they are often followed by these. :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl If you do see a chunterer, do not attempt to de-chunterise this bore by yourself. Call the Anti-Chuntering hotline immediately.

so what exactly are you saying nomie that one of us looks like an elephant or there is a truth here that we are ignoring :):)

The term refers to a question, problem, solution, or controversial issue that is obvious, but which is ignored by a group of people, generally out of embarrassment or taboo. The idiom can imply a value judgment that the issue ought to be discussed openly, or it can simply be an acknowledgment that the issue is there and not going to go away by itself.

The term is often used to describe an issue that involves a social taboo, such as race or religion.

The idiom is commonly used in addiction recovery terminology to describe the reluctance of friends and family of an addicted person to discuss the person's problem, thus aiding the person's denial. It is sometimes invoked as a "pink elephant", possibly in reference to alcohol abuse.

It is sometimes invoked as a "pink elephant", possibly in reference to alcohol abuse. This is a classic symptom of chuntering. This symptom is only achieved after the chunterer has seen a post but need 48 hours to think up some-thing witty in which to reply. Most witty folk have since moved on to other topics yet the chunterer still strives to find an interesting reply to an old post.

FURTHER NEWS FROM THE BBC

Following the arrest of four chunterers in Bracknell, an eye witness has given her account to the BBC.

: There i was minding my own business, she said..... I popped into my local pub for some light refreshment and i spotted the chunterers in a corner. I could tell they were chunterers immediately as they were laughing at their own jokes and i recognised some of the material from facebook. At first i decided to just ignore them but they seemed to wish to boost their ego's. Their leader then told the entire pub that he had something interesting to say. I feel such a fool now, but i fell for it and did indeed listen. I soon realised that this was a chunterer looking for a wider audience and tried to divert my attention to a man attempting to achieve a double top on the dart board. The chunterer believed i was an avid listener and once in his grip i found it hard to escape. I could feel my brain cells slowly dying off as he chuntered on. It was then i realised that i may become a victem of death by chunterism. As i slowly succumbed to the inevitability of death, a battle bus of Anti-Chunterers arrived and whisked me into the back of their van where i was given life saving treatment to my brain cells that were killed off during my brief spell listening to the chunterer. I owe my life to these people and i can not thank them enough. Even as the chunterers were apprehended, they were still chuntering away to themselfs as they were led away by men in white coats wearing industrial ear muffs to protect themselves from the chuntering.

Either i should have gone to specsavers but i can not find the word 'although' in your post. It matters not as i catch your drift.

In extreme cases of chuntering, the chunterer often over-steps the mark by becoming quite insulting. It is on these occassions that they then insist it's only 'good old fashioned British humour'. As we all know, Humour was abolished under the Thatcher government and any chunterer using this as an excuse is there-by breaking the law. If this fails the chunterer will then become so desperate that they will insist that all around them are Anti-American in a vain attempt to catch others attention. Anti-Americanism was made illegal in Britain after Tony Blair exchanged wedding vows with George Bush in downtown LA. The British/American alliegence was broken after Obama gave Gordon Brown some crap video's he bought in Woolmart. This almost led the Government to declare war on the state of Alabama.

Now your being just down right rude. Rudeness was abolished under the Jim Callaghan government. It was re-introduced briefly under John Major but really took a foothold again under the Bush administration.

Frankly it's your own fault. What you may think is hilariously funny, may not be to others. There is a world of difference between wit and down right nastiness and what you have said to her friends is not a joke, it's a cheap stab at nastiness.

Who cares what she does in her hot tub or what some-one's name is? It's not an excuse to ridicule some-one and hurt their feelings. She may look a right idiot in her hot tub and have four husbands...... so what? Why does that make her a target for your comments. Your over-looking the fact that these are Suzy's friends you are insulting, why don't you have more respect for her choice of friends?

I also suspect the only resaon you have posted what you believe to be amusing remarks, is so members will boost your ego by telling you how funny you are.

oscar;1206979 wrote: Trying to bring the BNP into every thread, i would imagine is not only becoming tiresome for other members but also shows you can not take critisism of any form without trying to resort to futher cheap jibes. Never mind, there will be an American on soon and then you can make equally inane comments about them being late for the war.

oscar;1206988 wrote: Well well well..... you really are exposing yourself as the bigot now arn't you. First of all you accuse anyone appossed to mass immigration, a rascist and now your accusing me of hating Americans. The joke is, I've probably been to and spent more time in the States than you have.

Your inability to debate sensibly is also apparent by the one line cheap jibes. Christ, no wonder Suzi's friends find you obnoxious.

My husband has a very close pal who quite honesty, i have trouble dealing with. he manages to irritate the daylights out of Pete as well but i respect the fact that he is Pete's pal and i try to look for the same good in him as Pete see's. That's how the world goes around a lot easier.

oscar;1207167 wrote: Has it ever occurred to you that your wifes friends think you are a complete tosser but have more respect for your wife's friendship than to tell her or try to belittle you infront of her friends? But of course if i add plenty of these :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh it's good old British humour again.

oscar;1207181 wrote: Let me give you my theory here shall i? You opened the thread thinking (wrongly) that members would come in and tell you that it's hysterically funny to ridicule your wife''s friends. When that didn't happen because most posters can actually see that you were using the woman to get a cheap laugh, you then post another thread trying to tell us it was a prank. I don't think it was a prank. That's your get out clause for being made to look a complete tit.

RAFT BUILDING GIRAFFES?

MARVELLOUSDON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT

oscar;1207235 wrote: It's not working is it? Your purile attempt to wriggle out of your thread that you thought would boost your ego. I've never known another poster having to put a thread on to counter-act a previous thread. I just happened to be the one who told you the truth, not fallen for some prank that your now trying to wriggle out of.

oscar;1207241 wrote: That's just it isn't it? You thought you'd get a few laughs and when you didn't you then have to post another thread to try to pass it off as a joke when everyone see's through you. I don't exactly see posters queuing up to say what a great gag it was on your other thread.

I'm going to leave you in your little egotistical world.

i did get a few laughs and your posts too which gave me laughs a plenty :D:D

oscar;1207681 wrote: 'Chuntering' was invented by the Labour MP Neil Kinnock.

Call the Anti-Chuntering hotline immediately.

farmer giles;1207714 wrote: ok that was funny :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

oscar;1207727 wrote: This is a classic symptom of chuntering.

Even as the chunterers were apprehended, they were still chuntering away to themselfs as they were led away by men in white coats wearing industrial ear muffs to protect themselves from the chuntering.

oscar;1207766 wrote: Either i should have gone to specsavers but i can not find the word 'although' in your post.

This almost led the Government to declare war on the state of Alabama.

oscar;1207811 wrote: This just shows how deadly chuntering is. One minute your a normal sane person and the next after spending a brief period of time in the presence of a chunterer, you find yourself chuntering along with them. I have just been visited by the anti-chuntering squad and was saved before it was too late.

Is this jaunty bantering the reason for Kathy Ellen's thread?

I see Jimbo as making down-to-earth, sometimes humorous observations of people and situations. And he is a GUY. ;)

Oscar can be quite witty with her responses. And she likes to be heard and enjoys the attention. And she is a WOMAN.

They are different, and both of these people are valuable members of the Forum Garden. :)

Now, as to the topic of this thread : There are a few of my in-laws who I don't particularly like, but I try to get along with them because they are family.
