I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be . .. . Puhleeeeeeeze! I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate. Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.:-5

In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag.

Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.:-5

Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.

Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, 'Listen, honey, even the Roman empire fell and those will too.':p

Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and we're sitting on our biggest ones.

Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think, 'For this I have stretch marks?' :-5:-5

In mid-life your memory starts to go.. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.

Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally--more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin .:rolleyes:

Mid-life means that you become more reflective. You start pondering the 'big' questions. What is life? Why am I here? How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice? :-3

But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that breasts sag, hips expand, and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've acquired.. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it!

My thoughts exactly..who cares what other peeps think..I don't. Although my children think I'm a bit outlandish...well, I says to them...hey, I can go to concerts, yard sales, play the Wii (which I'm addicted too), :wah:. Don't really care what you brats say.

For some reason the quotes are being quoted and the name being quoted is the name of the person using the quote....if that makes any sense.

Anyway I have edited it so it will look right and the readers dont get confused....this has happened before and lets hope will sort itself out soon:)

I love getting older. If I lose something, forget something, go into a room and can't remember why I did, repeat the same story 2 or 3 times to the same person, try and tell a joke and forget the punch line or say it wrong, try and remember a name or a movie and for the life of me can't...I can always say Hey, I have an excuse, I'm old.

I have found having friends and family is what it is all about. :-4 Be them tall, short skinny or a bit on the pudgy side, it is not what is on the outside that counts. A good figure and fancy clothes do not make you a great person. It is what is in your heart and soul.

Love all of you here because I can tell by what you post and how you say things that you are all beautiful. :-4

that reminds me of when i was in town a couple of days ago. we were stood in the queue to pay for all the cards i was getting in a card shop of course:wah: and was singing along to the music they had one when a very old lady in front of me turned and said oh thats lovely! (she was quite old so maybe slightly deaf:-2):wah: I laughed cos i hadnt even realised i was singing:o

Hell I would sell my soul for the body had when I was 50..!! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl Aging isn't for the weak it takes all my stamina each day to carry on.

Do I wash my floors on my hand and knees anymore hell NO I have my Granddaughter do it for me now..!! :yh_rotfl same with the windows nothing like teaching them when they are young.

I know, I saw awful really. but it comes to us all..

We used to live in a near a very posh street where lots of famous people lived or came to visit..When I was about 11 a big car pulled up and an electric window went down, an American voice asked for directions and as I gave them I realised who I was talking to ...'but youre...'I stuttered

Yep I am he said and drove off.. I was stunned I just met Tony Curtis!!!

All fine whiteish hairs, but in MY magnifying mirror I can see every little one :yh_rotfl I would rather have the hairs back on my legs, why did they feel they had to move upwards :-2

I've not had underarm hair in years..thank you Mother Nature...as for hair on the legs..comes in blond..I can get away without shaving most summers. No mustache on me.:p
