Oregon Amber Alert

The AMBER Alert System began in 1996 when Dallas-Fort Worth broadcasters teamed with local police to develop an early warning system to help find abducted children. AMBER stands for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response and was created as a legacy to 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, who was kidnaped while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas, and then brutally murdered. Other states and communities soon set up their own AMBER plans as the idea was adopted across the nation.

Oregon Amber Alert

Post by Peg »

BURNS, Ore. - The AMBER Alert issued for a 5-year-old boy taken in Hines, Ore. has been cancelled following the safe recovery of the boy near Denio, Nevada.

Police said 5-year-old Masson Weller was taken from a foster home. Authorities issued an Amber Alert then deactivated it.

State Police say the child and two suspects were stopped by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol after the agencies received reports of a possible sighting of their vehicle.

They detained the boy's mother, 27-year-old Myranda Elane Denny, and 24-year-old Mark Ayers.

I love a happy ending. :-4
