Read This!!!! Tax payout!!!!

Post by kazalala »

I found this in the Daily Mirror today. If you had a child between 1986 and 2003 this could mean a tax payout for you! The form seems to be missing some boxes to fill in at the beginning,, name address nat. ins. no. but you are told to just handwrite it in in the space where the boxes should be( the top of the form first page). The deadline is this Saturday 31 Januray. I have printed off a form and it looks pretty simple to fill out.

Claim for children's tax credit by Saturday - or miss out - mirror.co.uk

ACT NOW

Go to hmrc.gov.uk and download form 11CTC, fill it in and send it to your local tax office. The address will be on your P60 or letters telling you of a change in your tax code.

But HMRC is unbending on the January 31 deadline. A spokesperson said: “People have had six years to get their forms in – there has to be a cut-off point.

You should apply if:

/You have a child who lived with you for at least of part of the tax year for which you are claiming (2001-02 or 2002-03).

/The child was under 16 years old at the beginning of the tax year you are claiming for.

/You worked and paid tax in that year.

You can only claim for one child and the person with the higher income must fill out the form.

We do actually have a good benifits system in this country. The problem is that DSS staff can't sit there for hours telling everyone everything that they are entitled to. Millions go un-claimed every year and it's just a case of people not knowing what they are entitled to.

yea odie people here can get that ,,, but this is a one off payment that came in to force in 2001 i think:thinking:

we can also get working tax credit,, for people with no kids or kids have left home etc. a top up depending on what you earn:)

Just think you can come over to the States and I will treat you to a Ducky Ride on the Delaware River in Philly and then take you to Geno's or Pat's for an authentic cheesesteak. Then we can hit a baseball game down at the park!;) You'd luv it:)
