Ouch on those ribs babe. Yeah, I broke one years ago....nothing you can do about it is right. Tripped on one of Q's toys on the steps and went flying down and hit the hardwood floor.:-5 I actually slid...wasn't wearing shoes only socks.

Hi there Heather ! Hope all is OK with you and yours :-6 :) I'm surviving, I think, but having a bit of an iffy time with the added worry of my second oldest brother having major surgery - bladder and prostate removed (cancer). Apparently he is very chirpy after a successful op. and I'm going to try to get to see him in hospital as soon as I can.

It is, bless him ! But he won't change Odie, always been a bit of a clown - keeps you young :-6 :)

I could never get my head round him actually being a magistrate! He is such a clown! He got the reputation of being the 'hanging magistrate'. His attitude was that if somebody was brought to court having done a similar offence before, then Michael would throw the book at him, because he obviously hasn't learnt his lesson! He is now retired, so I expect there are a lot of sighs of relief from certain quarters :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl He now does private tuition in mathematics, and has done that for some years.

Mind you if some of his 'victims' could have seen him 'off duty' so to speak, I think they would believe he wasn't the same person ! :wah: :wah:

Yesterday (Thursday), we bought a static caravan on a gorgeous site - the first step to us escaping from the overcrowded feral youth hole that our present home has become situated in! We have still got to get rid of stuff - now it involves a lot of furniture ! We will not need any of it where we will be going to live - we'll just be taking small personal happy memory things and disposing of the rest that we can manage without, which is everything except bedding, towels etc. Got loads of clothes to sort and I expect the majority of it will find it's way to the charity shops !

The good news about it is that we will be able to have a landline, so the internet will be accessible still, thank goodness ! (for me that is soooooo important)

Don't ask where the site is, as I can't tell you for various reasons.

The static is second hand (not old though), will be steam-cleaned throughout and valeted thoroughly. We will not need to pay any site rent/services till next December. We can stay all-year round, so long as we 'go away' for a couple of weeks in the year (we'd visit rellies etc - no problem !). It will be available to move into from next weekend ! I can't chuffin wait ! However we won't actually move yet, as we still have to finish sorting our house ready to sell - but the good thing for us is that we can totally empty it except for a bedroom suite and one or two other pieces of furniture, which a prospective purchaser may find useful (or they could just ditch it all! I just don't care really, although the bedroom suite is a very nice one and in good condition).

The static (below) will have a wooden balcony built around part of it, (from halfway down the doors side and going round and over the 'A' pole at the front, at no extra cost. It will be dog-secure with a gate and steps up for access, so our dog can safely go out on the balcony without being able to get out and run loose in the park, and we will be able to make the surrounding area of the static into some flower beds or whatever we like! There are loads of trees all over the place, so lots of bird song. It is such a tranquil place, and the 'residents' that we met were exceedingly friendly and very helpful.

Like a chump, I took lots of pics but I omitted to take any of the kitchen area !! This is situated directly opposite the dining area in the pics. and is pretty comprehensive.

It is 36 x 12 feet, 2 bedroomed and with a pull-out double bed in the sitting room.

It sounds like a proper home for you Helen, at last ! Not just one room, with a shared bathroom! Ere and you won't have niagara when them others shower :yh_rotfl. Or the rock concert each time they are in residence ! It will take you a little time to acclimatise yourself, I'll bet, but I am sure you won't mind one bit :yh_rotfl Wow, maybe this is about the right time to move, with work going into a slack period - gives you a chance to get sorted. Is that the place where dog-walking is fairly close, and you are not too far from the beach? Is there a garden by the way?

Oh I'm sure you will be a lot happier there, Helen. Good luck for Tuesday XXX

No, not yet, Ducky. We haven't got quite enough for the 'shortfall' to the grant, but as soon as we have, we will set the wheels in motion. Yes it will all be done before we put the house on the market, along with various other things :)

We have quite a few nice pieces of antique furniture, which we will take to auction. Our bedroom suite (not the bed cos that's blinkin past it :yh_rotfl) is in very good condition and is a very nice looking fairly modern set - Wardrobe(with full mirror), tall boy and a lovely dressing table with light. I shall miss that lot, but it has to be done. We have a lot of other stuff which we'll either sell, give away or take to the local tip --------- does anybody want an old computer with monitor and lots of books on how to .......... ? I think it was just post the crank handle model :yh_rotfl. We have an awful lot of crockery, glassware, china etc. So there is a distinct possibility that I shall be attending some car-boot sales, and even have a 'garage sale' in our back garden. Gawd we've got a load of tools - who the hell needs six hammers all the same type? :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl

Well we have so much clat, that although we know we have a particular tool, it cannot be found. Another is purchased  Then, surprise, surprise.........the missing item is found whilst we are looking for something totally different !! You see, we have a flat-roofed house so no attic............ now you can imagine our little problem concerning storage ! :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

We're in a bungalow so only have a very low attic. Pete has a shed full of fishing gear and tools as well as the garage and he's even putting stuff in the dogs room now. I am doing a massive car boot sale as soon as they start here again. When i had the new kitchen put in we had to strip everything out. I had things in there that i hadn't seen for 5 years or more. Pete will even save bits of wood incase they come in handy. I'm allways moaning and about two weeks ago, one of his pals came round and said ' here Pete, I'm building a chicken coup.....don't suppose you've got any odd lengths of wood have you'? :wah: Of course Pete said 'See, i told you they would come in handy one day!' :wah:
