Hope it really didn't ruin too many sentimental things!:-3
Interesting day. After church we went out for lunch and then hit 3 stores to purchase a new hot water tank. Sears had one, top of the line, for over $500, but none in stock, and they wouldn't sell us the floor model. Can't be too pressed for sales, we thought. Can't sell too many either if they don't have stock. People usually shopping for a hot water tank need them right then and cannot wait for a backorder....................
We finally got one at Lowe's for a bit over $300 plus we bought a wet vac to help clean up the mess.
Upon trying to load the item, we found it would not fit in the car we were driving. Our savior was our S-I-L who came to our rescuse with his SUV.
Home again, home again, jiggity- jig.
The hoses we had to drain the rest of the water from the tank were frozen. This caused a delay in installation, but was well used in cleaning up the H2O.
Hubby is on his 2nd trip back to Lowe's for additional pieces/parts to install this thing. I'm sure we'll have hot water soon..............
Meanwhile I am staying out of Hubby's path and have spent my time screwing up the pattern on a sweater I'm knitting.
This Sunday wasn't as much fun as last Sunday, but there's next weekend to look forward to as #1 daughter will be home for a visit. :-6
Hope your day was less complicated.

Wow Kindle, when it rains it poors, doesn't it?! So anyway, Sears acutally not having "stock" saved you some $$$. Nice SIL, glad it finally worked out. Hope you get that hot water soon! I know how the hubby feels, back in December when we first got here in FL, the first day I had to go to Home Depot "4 times in the same day for additional parts, to fix the internals of one of the toilet bowls. They were calling me there by my first name!
Smart, stay out of hubby's way till all is settled. And know how you feel about looking forward to loved one's visits. Enjoy!
