I was just going to sake a soak :-2 Have you tried soaking them in peppermint essential oil? Peppermint EO is known for waking the body up. Not only the muscles but the senses! :)

It's just unaccustomed exercise you'll get used to it. Wear good shoes-comfortable forget how they look, don't wear cotton or nylon socks best bet is go to a mountaineering shop and get ones designed for trekking-padded soles etc. Going a twenty mile hillwalk this weekend it's my knees that do me in.

How are your arches? If you have flat feet, like I do, either get really good walking shoes with arch supports or inserts. The inserts I buy (Dr Scholes) give good arch support and raises the heel by 1/2 inch, making me look taller. :-6

Gel supports really help! Also, try not to wear the same pair of shoes everyday...that can actually cause your arches to settle. I would switch between two pairs of sneakers every other day or every two days or so. Also, try heel cups. They'd be in the same aisle as gel inserts. They're amazing for stabilizing your feet and really comfortable.

What kind of shoes are you wearing? A good pair of tennies could help your feet feel more comfortable, or something with soft soles.

Flat meaning no arch support? You should get arch support regardless of how good your arches are.

-I agree with Far, the ted hose really work and nursing shoes, yep they are ugly!

But good for the feet, also I recommend if you cant do that, change your shoes 1/2 way through the day, when I work a 14 hour shift, I change socks and shoes after 7 hours, it does help with leg cramps.

-just a thought.

Yep - it always takes me about 6 weeks to get used to a new job where I have to do a lot of walking. I also have high arches so I make sure to put supports in my shoes. Sometimes this means buying a shoe that is a 1/2 size bigger so you don't cut off circulation to your toes.

That's a good point...I know my feet have spread a bit by the end of the day if I spend all day on them. Maybe buying the shoes in a wide width will help, too.

PEG, I was born with permanent INGROWN GREAT TOE NAILS.. All my life my feet have been a misery.. I had surgery 2 times as a child.. Then wouldn't let anyone touch them ever again. Well one day(about 3 years ago) I decided to get a PEDICURE you would not believe the difference in my feet now. They actually look great, feel wonderful and it is so relaxing. I recommend a PEDICURE with the SPA chairs for anyone Male or Female it is the best thing you can do for your feet.. and they look beautiful..:D I get one 2 times a month if not more..;)

Switching shoes helped on 8 hour shifts.

But on 12.5 hour shifts the legs and feet are just doomed sometimes.
