Hi Everyone,
Just finding my way around the garden. Looks pretty interesting so far.
I live with my husband and dog on a boat on the West coast in Canada. Retired fairly recently and am learning website design among other things. Keeping busy with lots of things to do.
Don't know how I found the time to work.
My name is due to the fact we were in the fuel cleaning/tank cleaning business for a number of years. Hence my name. I find not alot of people compete with it so I continue to use it even though my life no longer revolves around fuel.
Cheers

Hi and welcome!
You live on a boat of the west coast of Canada?, that sounds really cool and exotic to me for some reason, I live in the countryside in Ireland. I always wondered whether I should go to live in Canada one day, I dunno, its just got this appealing quality. Also of course, its a long way from here.
Anyway, enough of all that, Welcome Fueldiva! :-6

Hi there!:)

On a boat?
Is it a dinghy? A dredger? An old tramp steamer? I'm wildly impressed, nobody else here lives on a boat. It's like getting a visit from Grace Kelly.
Well, sort of. A real visit by Grace Kelly would be plain unnatural.
I hope you have fun here.

Grace Kelly I am not! lol
It is a trawler which basically means a big slow comfortable boat that only goes around 8 knots. We like it because we can cruise and live life...cook, listen to music, watch tv or nap when we are travelling from one point to another.
I have a picture of it on my profile but haven't figured out if I can insert a picture here unless I have it on the net somewhere else. Anyway I will eventually figure it all out.

You have the sweetest dog, is it a shitzsu?
Introducing Fueldiva
It is a Shitzu (?) Poodle named Buster.
He is really a boat dog. If he sees a boat he can jump on he does. Invitation or not.
Are you aboriginal?

Sometimes I think that if I had had my Buster I probably wouldnt have had children ..awful to say but they are much easier to raise and they dont have to go to college, never borrow money and dont talk back.

Thank you for the welcome.
It is different. I meet lots of people. Some from the States and some from other countrys. it is a cool way to see Canada so alot of people rent boats and travel up the coast.
Last year was a bit of a wash as we hit a rock and had to repair the boat but I am looking forward to this coming summer when we will travel further up the coast.
I will be posting some photos of my travels I hope. I can get internet pretty well at certain points. Some places nothing at all unless I spend tens of thousands of dollars which I am not willing to do. I want a watermaker first before TV and Internet.....

Hi Fueldiva, and welcome to a fellow boat owner. I used to live aboard a boat on our inland waterways, for a couple of years - wonderful experience! My husband Chris and I owned a charter/trip boat business on the River Trent at Nottingham, for many years. We sold our house to finance buying the business, but then we were of 'no fixed abode' as they call it here ! So we bought a very second-hand holiday boat to live on, unfortunately my husband Chris, being an asthmatic, was having difficulty during the winters here, so we had to move into a house, where we are still living. I envy you your lifestyle and wish you every success in all you want to do in your retirement. There are many photos in my profile, some of which are of our lovely charter/trip boat. We are now retired, and are endeavouring to move back into the countryside somewhere, from the suburbs of a big city - bit more peace and quiet !!
Once again, welcome, and may you enjoy the wonders of Forum Garden !!! :-6

On a boat it is cool, if you were in a caravan you'd be a knacker.
Welcome, you live in a beautiful part of the world. I simple love British Columbia and have travelled through much of it.

Thanks for the welcome. A 'knacker'. I will have to get used to all this new lingo:)
I do know what a caravan is I think. We have a sort of caravan too. A camper on our truck which we use to go camping. We are mobile.

I have some friends that went to Europe and stayed on a canal boat for a time. They are interesting. I would love to do that some day. I think it probably is very relaxing and a little less wild than our coastal cruising, although they say it is the best in the world.
I will post more pictures of my boat in the next few days.
Thanks for the friend request and I will catch up with you soon.
I am still a little unsure of the etiquette involved in participating in the forums and need to do some reading.
I jumped into a converstation yesterday and I think i must have done some kind of a faux pas as everyone left. lol

Cheers
I invented Forum Garden so if you like it compliments should be directed to me.
My bio consists of mad scientist, Ninja and some top secret stuff I cant talk about.
I collect belly button lint and make magnificent art out of it.
Dracula scares me because he sucks blood out of people so Ill never visit Transylvania.
I think the most telling thing about myself I could share with you is that while I am an American, born and bred I "feel" very much like a Swalbardian. I cant explain it but theres definitely a pull I feel to go seal hunting. Its a primal instinct that lives deep inside me.
Thank you.
