The best real ale I've tried recently is Yorkshire Breweries Winter Ale. It is a dark ale with hoppy and cherry flavours and very warming.

To properly answer this question would require a large team of people to go out and try every real ale on offer at least once a week if not daily. There are various factors that effect the quality of a real ale from the moment the wort is created to the point when the cask is emptied.

I thought you were going to offer to fund an expedition. Thank god you told me now, I was getting my elbow warmed up.

:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

It's all a question of what's on offer at your local then and the method by which the pub stores the casks and delivers the product to the customer. You'd be surprised at how many real ale varieties are out there.

To be honest, I hadn't thought of using my profile picture for my avatar. I use the polar bears as a representation of myself and my daughter as it were. Putting a pic up of us both felt tacky to me.:):o

I don't have the equipment to diffract your questions, of that I can assure you. Look to the Internet, it will be diffracting your questions through the cable modems.

They are recombined before they reach my PC when the light signals are reconverted to electrical signals.:yh_tong2:yh_tong2

Out of respect for the fact that she was killed, I will answer seriously. I have only heard bits of info about this incident on the radio at work. I really don't know why she didn't get out and call the signalman.

I've just looked up the report on BBC's site. From this I would guess that she must have panicked, particularly once the barriers started coming down along with the warning sounds going off.

It's very sad when someone dies violently for whatever reason.

Yes I was just going to say that panic must have been the overiding factor as from a distance its very logical to just get out and walk away.

Sorry for posing such a serious question, I was just curious to what you had thought about it as there is little info.

In fact, there would probably have been a road sign at the crossing stating exactly what to do if you gets stuck on the crossing, especially in a vehicle. Ringing the signalman is very important to stop any oncoming trains. There could have been a very serious incident causing more deaths. I think that the train that did come along was going relatively slow. Probably a local train.

I personally think that sensors should be placed at these crossings to detect obstructions. I'm sure it wouldn't be that expensive and can either be transmitted to the signal centre or wired into the signalling system to slow down and/or stop the train. Preferably both. It wouldn't be that difficult to do. The track itself is a part of the signalling system.
