Blair feared 'palaver' over Catholicism conversion

Blair feared 'palaver' over Catholicism conversion - UK Politics, UK - The Independent

Mr Blair was reticent about discussing his faith while in office - his spin-doctor Alastair Campbell once famously commented that "we don't do God" and the former PM himself said he feared he would be viewed as a "nutter" by voters if he spoke about religion.

Too right we would-especially of he said god had told him to invade Iraq. What a lying piece of ****. Thought hypocrites didn't go to heaven.

What's this gmc???

Are you actually surprised that His Tonyness has lied about something else??

I saw an American interview last week on sky and i can't remember the name of the guy which is a shame because he was very good and i'd like to see him again.

He interviewed Tony Blair who is out there being paid by Americans to give speeches. :yh_doh:yh_doh

They talked about his coversion to Catholisism and i thought 'You kept that one quiet didn't you'. But his tonyness wanted to put the record straight that he had always wanted to convert but held back until he had finished office because he needed to put the people of Great Britain first. :yh_rotfl By now, the American audience is ecstatic and whooping with joy:yh_cowboy

He then got a bit squirmy when pushed on Iraq and his relationship with Bush. Anyway it's all o.k. because his tonyness said that we went into Iraq because at the time, he BELIEVED their were WMD's That's ok then.

It finished with a hysterical audience whooping and applauding him.

America, if you like him.. You keep the lying ********

No I knew about it as did many others, I suppose bringing the matter up would raise the spectre of sectarianism. But this bastard also allowed more faith schools and was clearly pushing that agenda, not to mention selecting bishops for the church of england-which i don't care about but that he an avopwwed catholiv would do so knowing what it stands for |I find despicable-he should have been honest. At the end of the day the ones to blame are the members of parliament who let it happen. Worst of all scots MP's who supported and got through changes in education in England which did not affect scotland and which would have been controversial here to-put it mildly. Same with foundation hospitals and the like-we don't have them you do because of scots MP's.

Interesting contrast in attitude though. If he came out with similar sentiments here but held back until he had finished office because he needed to put the people of Great Britain first. The audience I suspect would be baying for blood.

Course he did, wonder of god told him to change the reports.
