We watched 'The Hunting Party' with Richard Gere last night, really good it was, and some parts of it are true....it's based on a war story, he and his best friend were journalists... this movie was released in 2007.

also watched 'Hancock' with Will Smith.....was oh so funny until it got mushy!

-he made an awesome drunk superhero!:wah:

-no idea when this one was released, disc never said!:lips:

-cold weather has started, so were now back renting movies.

- which ones have you seen and would recommend?

Went to the cinema in the week and saw Mamma Mia.

Im not big on musicals but this was fantastic.

A real feel good film, I danced and sang in the aisle:D

Nobody wanted to leave the cinema, everyone had big smiles on their faces and I bet they all sang the songs on the way home like we did.

One thing was everytime I saw Meryl Streep who plays Donna, I was reminded of Aussie Pam, she just fit Donna's fun persona...:-6

I watched what I absolutely guarantee is the greatest clunker of all time. If film-making continues another thousand years nobody will come close to making so bad a movie as Dune. Ed Wood was less awful at film-making. Plan Nine From Outer Space deserved Oscars by comparison with this drivel.

I'll extend my argument to say that any film ever made on which the name Laurentiis appears as a credit for any reason at all is going to be nothing but embarrassment and an evening you'll spend the remainder of your life trying to forget.

We watched Over the Hedge yesterday, it's animated and extremely well done.

Exceptionally brilliant cast, my favorite was Hammy a pumped-up squirrel!

This is a must see for adults!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Over the Hedge (2006)

A scheming raccoon fools a mismatched family of forest creatures into helping him repay a debt of food, by invading the new suburban sprawl that popped up while they were hibernating...and learns a lesson about family himself.

Cast:

Bruce Willis ... RJ (voice)

Garry Shandling ... Verne (voice)

Steve Carell ... Hammy (voice)

Wanda Sykes ... Stella (voice)

William Shatner ... Ozzie (voice)

Nick Nolte ... Vincent (voice)

Thomas Haden Church ... Dwayne (voice)

Allison Janney ... Gladys (voice)

Eugene Levy ... Lou (voice)

Catherine O'Hara ... Penny (voice)

Avril Lavigne ... Heather (voice)

Omid Djalili ... Tiger (voice)

Sami Kirkpatrick ... Bucky (voice)

Shane Baumel ... Spike (voice)

Madison Davenport ... Quillo (voice)

You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Not a word out of place, every scene's perfect, it should be shown instead of the prime-time news hour, it's more informative. Well done Mr Sandler, you're my idol.

I read it when it came out but I'm pretty sure I never heard of a film of it. Patricia Wright isn't listed as a writer in imdb.

Just saw the new James Bond flick. Lots of action throughout the film. It's really a continuation of the last film and it helps to remember what it was about. I didn't and had to pick it up in the reviews.

I watched Mama Mia on DVD on Friday. It was good fun and made me smile - good for the soul ! Haven't been to the cinema for years so either watch films on TV or DVD. I've got a good (but small) surround sound system which adds to the enjoyment and atmosphere.....glass of wine, choccie bics & no distractions......GREAT !

I saw "Burn After Reading" last night, the Coen Brothers latest. Slightly Fargo-esque and fun, in a black kind of way. Has anyone else seen it?

I have not gone to see a movie in at least 4 years. I am a OLD movie buff. Most new ones are geared at the 20 something crowd. Or are very poorly made. How much is it to see a movie now anyway?? I just watched a Jimmy Stewart in HARVEY.

we haven't gone in ages.....to expensive, its now 16.00 per adult!

36.00 per couple plus our 2 tax's, we refuse to pay that for 90 minutes worth, and that is with no drinks/snacks.

we watch them on DVD rentals.

more comfy, you can pause it when you want.......and you don't pay 6.00 for popcorn.

another reason now why so many download or burn them.

the theaters wrecked this for themselves.
