He/she who shouts loudest wins?

Very often people don't set out to intentionally hurt through their posting though.... often people are just simply disagreeing with a way of thinking or just simply giving their opinion on how they see the topic of the thread.....

If a thread is out there surely we should all welcome all opinions whether they agree with us or not?... As long as those opinions aren't abusive or threatening surely it's OK to disagree?.....

Listening to what other people have to say opens your mind to things you may never have known had someone not given their thoughts on a subject and then gives you the opportunity to question their opinion and learn more about the individual....

I like that we're all different and all think differently..... :)

I like that we're all different and all think differently..... :) i guess dear it It was not what is said, it is how it is said. I have had people just crush my feeling. Thinking HUH?? . I take others feelings always into consideration. That is why if i know i could hurt a friend i would rather bite my lip.Making people cry or mad is not what i consider a GOOD TIME. But that is me. We all are different.

I find it's so easy to read people out of context when there is no real emotion behind words typed.... Often what we read can be quite the opposite to what is meant, which is why I always welcome people questioning my posts.... I never take offence at that, I welcome the opportunity to explain my meaning:)

I have had people just crush my feeling. Thinking HUH?? .

If someone did that with intention hunny, they are wrong!... simple as!...;)

I take others feelings always into consideration. That is why if i know i could hurt a friend i would rather bite my lip.Making people cry or mad is not what i consider a GOOD TIME. But that is me. We all are different.

It is possible someone could read your posts above and presume you were talking about them and feel hurt if they were that way inclined, we could all read into any post whatever we wished to see.....

I hope you get what I'm saying... I'm not meaning that to sound as it might read..... I'm trying to say, that if I were upset about lets say Christmas today I read the christmas threads and they make me so upset and cry..... I wouldn't expect anyone not to post about that just because I may be affected by it and possibly hurt by what I'm reading.....

LOL... I'm going a long way round the houses here aren't I! :wah:

*edited to add* I meant to also say sweetness, that unlike in the real world one of the beauties of posting on a forum is that if someone is constantly upsetting you, there is a remarkable feature which allows you to completely cut that person out of your life using the 'ignore' feature... that way you don't have to read them anymore

-you are so very right, its how they 'say things'....and they do know what they say and how they want it meant.

(sometimes people can read things wrong in posts: --always a good idea to preview, re-read and re-read again before submitting.)

that's what it's really all about, 'what kind of words are spoken'.

I am like you, in always taking other peoples feelings into consideration and everyone should do this as well....but some just don't feel a need in caring about others.

I to have had my feelings crushed and I just think, what kind of people are these?

do they not have any conscious?

and in rather than hurt a friend, I would just back away.

i think it's very easy to misread a post on here, like it was said earlier, there is no emotion behind typed words, except for the smileys of course but sometimes i think a post can come off sounding completely different than it was originally meant to.

i know i have said things that were taken completely wrong, and people assumed things that weren't even remotely what i was thinking.

but thats the burden we bear when we can't see who we are talking to!

thing is.......without 'male' or 'female' in the avator, sometimes the only one way is trying to check a profile.

everyone thought I was a man, because of my username.

Hoss i don't remember Odie wearing a red dress, when was this! :yh_rotfl

don't worry buddy! it's all part of the forum experience to clash with other peoples ideas! you keep on posting your opinions!

the first couple days i was here i manage to seriously tick off some people, i came in like a whirlwind and spoke exactly what i thought in a couple of sensitive subjects, but i survived! and here i still am 9 months later! :guitarist

Hoss;1063719 wrote: LOL, maybe it was you? I don't remember now. It may have been when my dad was first showing me the forum.

I will post whenever something gets to me and I want to. I think I say what I think too many times in one post and poeple get tired of me saying it. But that's what I have to say. How many times do you say the same thing before someone else gets it? Or how many times do you say the same things on a thread that you've said on other threads?

I guess I don't have that much to say.

i have found that i agree with quite a bit of what you say, i guess we think a lot alike!

all we can do is express our opinions and allow that everyone else is free to express theres too.

Hoss;1063739 wrote: LOL, I mean that I know I'm very different than most people on here. I have different ideas because of how I was raised and most people really don't care for how I was raised and they aren't interested in my experiences, and they have said as much. Which is fine because I wasn't trying to force anyone to do anything my way. I was just stating my opinions.

I know I'm old fashioned and that’s fine with me. I'm happy and content being the way I am and I'm not going to do it any other way. To me, repeating the same opinions from one thread to another when most people aren't interested is just a waste of time.
