If you're lucky it's just Orange going down for a while and they'll straighten it and you'll be back.

"Orange Box" must be your provider most likely them or the router or both. Nothing makes me nuts more than no internet. :-5:-5 You will have it fixed in no time.

Glad you got it all sorted out! I lost AOL connection last week and I did speak with a person located in India. Man, I couldn't understand one thing the person was telling me to do :-5 Thank goodness, I called a local computer expert and within a few minutes, I was back up and running!

Ahhh...yes...tech support from India. What a waste of time. They have no clue how to help you and then they keep asking if the problem is resolved. Especially if you use the chat feature. What they want is for you to say it is resolved so they can get rid of you. But I really cant call them because I cant understand them. And even if I manage to understand them, they offer no workable solution.

For goodness sake, change your supplier! Send a letter to all your suppliers who use overseas call centres and tell them you're moving your account to a supplier who uses English call centre staff, that way they'll add up the figures of defecting customers. If you don't tell them and you don't move then they'll see their cost-cutting as a success, won't they.

Id love to change my isp Spot but unfortunately I cant. I had previously been with Freeserve who then got taken over by Orange. When I changed over to Broadband and got a new live box ect, it was a 12 month contract. As the contract was nearly up I was looking at changing over to Tiscali, out of the blue I get a call from Orange offering me a new b/band and phone deal which I refused. He then says well you can still have the faster live box at no extra charge, ok I say. Hubby came home that night and says don't bother if your going to move from them next month so I rang them back.............I was told sorry you cant change your mind, you have entered a 12 month binding contract. I argued ect.. and was told their was no cooling off periods for existing customers only new customers. I was on the phone over an hour, asked to speak to the manager, told lies saying I was moving out of the area soon and would be swapping to cable so I didn't want their stupid box and contract. I was told in no uncertain terms that I could not break this new contract that was made via phone and I wasn't even aware it included a new contract being made. In the end they made a deal, I got 6 months free internet and they didn't send the new live box.

My contract ends in feb/march 2009 and I will be changing then. Its unfortunate that we dont get cable here.
