CHILD killers Roy Whiting and Robert Black will munch their way through the credit crunch with a series of slap-up feasts at Christmas.

As the rest of the nation tightens its purse-strings, they and fellow lags at Wakefield Prison are set to tuck into one mouth-watering meal after another.

And last night a highly-placed source at the Category A prison called the lavish treats “a disgrace”.

Black, who murdered three girls in the 80s, and Whiting — serving life for killing schoolgirl Sarah Payne — are being invited to choose from a series of menus, including a healthy option.

The Christmas Day fare includes turkey with chipolata sausages or roast lamb with mint sauce or Halal roast beef with horseradish, plus roast potatoes, stuffing and onion gravy.

Dessert is Christmas pud with rum sauce, or fruit cocktail with melon.

On Boxing Day lags can choose buttered corn on the cob or lemon and peppercorn escalopes, followed by half a roast chicken with mushroom sauce or roast beef with horseradish or a gammon steak with pineapple.

The New Year’s Day menu features apple and cranberry roast grill, or salmon in a dill sauce, or roast pork with apple sauce, or braised steak.

Desserts include strawberry cheesecake and luxury chocolate ice cream.

Copies of the menu are in a folder decorated with Christmas crackers and holly on each of the four wings at the high-security jail in West Yorks.

Paedophile Sidney Cooke is another Wakefield prisoner — serving two life sentences for a string of rapes on young boys. The source said: “It’s just not on. The country is in the grip of a credit crunch, yet thousands of pounds will be spent feeding the lowest of the low.

i can understand peoples outrage at this but turkey dinners will be dished out to lags in jails all over the country this xmas to every thieving druggie rapist paedo lowlife in there so what makes wakefeild so special as opposed to belmarsh or parkhurst ? because of the 4 top names in there thats why.

we also have to feed the terrorists in belmarsh who accept our hospitality and then bomb innocent people to death who should be alive spending this xmas with their families not 6 feet underground while abdul eats his xmas lunch in belmarsh very much alive and giving it what for to allah on his prayer mat .

we have to feed the likes of beverley allett in rampton or ian huntley the list is endless.

i dont support what they get for xmas dinner they wont get what they are getting in wakefield but thats life.

do we starve them and keep them locked in their cells from xmas eve to dec 27th

the humanitarians would have a field day.

i agree that sumptious menus for these scumbags is wrong but its peace on earth and goodwill to all men and all that eyewash but suppose it makes a change to porridge .

by the way i will be at midnight mass as usual this xmas eve my yearly visit to church
