David, you must be more specific. People are all equal in what way? Health, weight, height, intelligence, color, income, ambition, tolerance, etc.

Were all born equal but not the same:-6

We all have the same qualitative make-up; we are born equal in this respect. All human beings have the same reflexes, instincts, drives, needs, capacities, and rights; all have the same powers of perception, discrimination, attentiveness, retentiveness, reasoning, and so forth.

The differences between persons are quantitative rather than qualitative. 'Equality' is to do with our qualities, which we all share, but not the degree to which they are developed.

We can all develop and improve ourselves, toward the goal of fulfilling our true potential.

I beg to differ Chezzie. Human beings do not have the same reflexes, instincts, drives, needs, capacities or power of perception and are certainly not born with any of these. Some are born with Downes Syndrome, etc. Granted, we can all improve on what we start with, but we do not all start out the same.

I think if we were all equal we'd live a very boring existance... it's our differences that make us all unique and special in our own way.....

As in the famous words of George Owell’s Animal farm:

‘All animals are created equal’

‘but some animals are more equal than others’
