Although I do realize that seniors would not want to give up driving, re-testing may be a good idea. Slower reflexes, poorer eye-sight, and diminished brain function should be taken into consideration. Ofcourse, there are many "young" people who should be re-tested as well. Anyone with more than 3 driving violations in a certain period of time should be retested. IMO

Right on AFTR, we had a seperate thread a while ago about periodic testing for seniors. And I then brought up the point that periodic testing S/B done for all, when re-newing driver's licenses. As even young driver's could just as well become temporaraly disabled (or even perminently disabled) after taking their intial driver's test, thus rendering them handycapped in the driver's seat. So periodic "physical testing" S/B required at a minimum, of every 4 to 5 years for all!
