seriously though:

go to the pet forum and ask for advice...Val or BR will tell you why and how to stop the bad behavior.
Far... I'm pretty sure she already knows why she needs to stop the cat.

the how is what she is looking for.

Personally, I like the idea of crapping on the cat.

Oh, that said "Bed" not "Head" sorry.

I'm sure you're not a bad person. Actually I think the cat would get the message !

Have you recently moved to this apartment, is there any other change in your life or routine?

Cats are very sensitive to change and intelligent enought to know what kind of behaviour upsets you: S/he is protesting about something!

I've had kitties in the past that have crapped on my bed because I was not at home as much as they were use to . No, REALLY!

Best of luck to you. Let us know how you get on; wether you do that doodie or not!

xx

Listeranta is on the right track.

Did you recently change to a different brand of litter? Fail to keep the

box scrupulously clean? Change in kitty's diet? Locate litter box too close

to where food/water is kept? All of these things and more can make a cat

stop using the litter box. I would also suggest a vet consultation, if kitty

has a health problem such as a UTI, they can associate pain with using

the box and try going somewhere else.

Good luck with tracking down the cause, I think you should be able to

resolve this!

P.S. Some kitties don't like the "scented" litters so if that's what you have

or have changed to that, you might try going back to regular.

Probably.

Something like "buy a nice house with a garden for me to run around in"?

Our kitty has taken to doing the same thing. I'm going to scrub the area she frequents with pine sol (she hates that scent) and hope that she decides her new litter box is much better than our icky berber carpet.

A product called Nature's Miracle works really well for taking an animal's

scent out of carpet so they don't return. Beware of using anything with

ammonia in it, that doesn't work.

interesting old thread.

reasons cats will no longer use their litter box:

-what most don't realise is kitty will not go it the litter box is dirty.

-kitty will not go if you have changed locations of the box

-if you once had it upstairs, then put it downstairs.........some cats will not go downstairs.

-if the cat is neglected or jealous of any other pet/person

-if you move, this affects the cat immensely, make sure you take him/her to the box several times a day..........he cannot figure out the new place, let alone his bathroom is new.

-can also mean there is something physically wrong with the cat, if all else has failed...........see your vet.
