AAA says if you roll up your windows on the highway and use your air conditioner(thats if you have one) It will save you in gas. And keep your windows down on side roads. They the wind makes your car work harder. and they say get rid of the junk in your car because it weighs it down. they also say if you check the pressure in your tires. mmm Just something to think about. it takes 50. to full up my windstar.:-5

Hmmm. That's strange. I always appear to use more gas when I have the AC on.

I never understood why, but I do.

I was always told that using the AC used MORE gas (how? dunno!)

hmmm...

no mention of it here

actually I checked every link here and there is no mention of AC whatsoever... so we've both been victims of urban myth ;)

"When you're driving across town, in stop-and-go traffic," says Frank Hampshire, director of market research with the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association, or AASA, "it's more fuel efficient to drive with the air conditioning off, windows down."
