:-3 Like I said in my post under born again christians and Myths. I had a very bad experience in Churches . I have gone five different churches. some twice. It was awful. I can admit my husband is a better christian then I am. I am very ittalian, and my family do not forgive easily. My family is always in Compettition with each othere. The better hair, better looks. who gets more of grandma's love. How much more does your husband get paid then mine. stuff like that. Ands yes we are very defensive. On the othere hand I am only half ittalian, the irish said are all born agains. but even some of them have a hard time letting go of the past. Some are cold, snotty.
So are christians. They can be warm and loving one moment, and unforgiving the next. They say we don't judge. But they do. This new church we have gone to on occassion is more relaxed. You don't have follow the letter of book. Church is great, but god is better. Your secret dwelling place is your mind and your soul. So if doesn't seem right to you it might right for you. The church, not god.

your church, your temple lies within yourself, your soul
you are who you are, if that defines you as a scot, italian whatever, no matter
the air you breathe, the history you know, what defines your beliefs, morals is who you are, you have to decide, when you do, it is then that you will be at peace
peace is within, its in your heratige, right or wrong

Well for Chrissakes, don't go to the 7th Day Adventists. I've heard the Unitarian Church is very non-judgmental.

This is a page with their creed. There's probably a church near you.

Well said Buttercup. Don't look outside yourself, look into your heart.....that's where the courage is.

So are christians. They can be warm and loving one moment, and unforgiving the next. They say we don't judge. But they do.
That's because they are human...in all the fallible, inconsistant, selfish ways that humans are.
But you are right. Follow God, not man. Religion is nothing more than man's search for God and it also can be easily corrupted and is highly fallible, but God never changes. On the other hand, there are wonderful congregations out there. You just have to find the right one for you.

I guess, Accountable that you once had an unhappy Sabbath? If so, I'm really sorry to hear that, and would love a chance to make it up to you.

Churches can be so crucifying -- the church leaders so often forget that they should encourage us with our pilgrimages, but they can be very worldly with their status-seeking, power-grabbing, pulpit-propagandising.
Jesus did not like the Saducees -- you are in good company. See the site:

Hope this helps -- we are with you.

Holy cow. That's the church I grew up in...the very one that stuck a knife in my back, twice.
Not a personal shot at you, telequapacky, just the church.
