the sentencing hearing for dennis rader commenced yesterday aug. 17 live on court tv. each victim's death is being described in gruesome detail by police officials. it will continue today, and then family members will be able to speak. the details have been graphic and horrific, heartbreaking and beyond reason. he is subject to a max sentence of 175 years. the reason i believe for this presentation is for the sake of the families, who did not know the details. they needed to know. but it is very difficult to listen to. and rader sits there enjoying every minute of his infamy. in fact, you can observe he is getting off on it, especially the crime scene photos.
