Prices are soaring - and we have started to feel the pinch in our family. With active kids and a fair amount of activities, we have to put a lot of miles on our cars.

Yes they do, I am not driving long distance anywhere this year just for a visit. Nor flying for now and at work my shipping costs are taking a beating thanks to fuel surcharges. Bah insanity.

Nope. I'm one of the lucky ones. I have no relatives living in far away places. I live just two blocks from where I work, and the local Walmart is another two blocks in the opposite direction. My total commute to work lasts about two minutes, just long enough to listen to one song on the CD player. I drive a 6-cylinder small pickup that weighs almost nothing and gets about 30 MPG in city driving.

My idea of a long drive is to drive to the pool, 2 miles away.

A full tank of gas lasts me for about two months.

I figure I can stand up to about $6.00 gallon before it starts to impact my life. Then I'll just get out my bicycle and ride everywhere, New Mexico gets an average of 285 days of sunshine a year, and it's always mild here at 5500 ft. elevation.

You know, this may actually be the answer to American obseity. If gas gets high enough, everyone will start riding bikes and walking everywhere just like in China.

Personally, I blame the Republican party. Every time they're in power the economy takes a nose dive. When Clinton and the Democrats were in power the economy was in great shape. I sure hope we get rid of the Republicans in the next election, before our country goes bankrupt.

Gas prices impact the pocketbook, but if mass transportation is not available to take you to your destination, what are you going to do? The kids are goingto carpool to college, and that will help some with them driving only 1-2 times a week. But I have to drive to work, no otherway to get there, thankfully I use less then a tank a week.

I'm ready for the first day of school...................

$3 Per gallon? us Brits should be so lucky, we pay around $8 Per gallon & rising!:mad:

I always thought the principal should get one at my school, speed it down the hallway in pursuit of those gum chewing kids!

Believe me I am feeling the PITCH . Can they duplicate the formula of gas. Wouldn't that be something.

We are drilling 2 new oil wells this week and I never complain about the price of oil unless some dumb Democratic president lets it slip to $7.00 a barrel and almost puts me out of business. I do agree that $65.00 a barrel is way too much and unfortunately I'm crying all the way to the bank.

That must make you for wonderful. that your finachial happiness relays on othere peoples miserory. Good for you.

I don't care how you make your money. I am not mad about it either. But you know what, why don't you give person some free gas. and show your human side. all that money your making give some to charity. Then maybe people wouldn't come down on you and think your GREEDY

Weird that President Bush turned it around with all that happened to us (you) since he took office + inherting a Clinton recession.........

Please show me the dive you refer to other than our deficit growing during this war on terror?

My husband says that to me all the time. I wasn't attacking you. Gee someone is a lttle bit senastive. What you cannot take critizism. When you come out with a statement about being greedy, and that's what it sounds like what do you expect. I am not going to spare with you. So everytime I get a reply I am just going to delete it.
