Heads up info: Just read in AAA magazine, this new requirement for US citizens traveling (via Air or Sea) to Western Hemisphere. After December 31,2005, it stated that only a "Passport" will be accepted as identification, & will be required for the US travelers to be able to re-enter the US. (Only the terrorists don't need them :wah: ) (Check with your travel agents)

Starting December 31, 2006, "Passports" will be needed when returning from Air or Sea travel to & from Mexico & Canada.

Starting December 31, 2007 "Passports" will be needed for all Air, Sea & Land "border" crossings!

My wife & I just applied for our Passports, yesterday. Luckily we saw the new requirement, as we are going on a cruise to the Caribbean January 8th 2006.

Good advice, Cars. It's always good to have a warm passport ready. What if friends invite you to a cruise and you have to say no because you don't have yer leetle book ready. By the way, mine's way expired, and I need an update. Thanks

Just curious Cars, which islands are you visiting in the Caribbean? Have you ever been on a cruise before? I've gone a couple of times and had a blast!

Yes we have been on 4 other cruises over the last 15 years, and had a blast as well, on each of them.

(Except one cruise we got caught in a lightening-thundering storm, and you could feel the ship listing 20 degrees even with the stabilizers on full. So we stayed in the casino until bed time (3am) and crashed. Woke up in morning and all was much calmer. Had a great unbeleavable breakfast) Oh-Oh I'm getting hungry!!

This cruise is the first one where we are getting a "Balcony" room. Before, we always just had outside "window" cabin. So we're really looking forward to this cruise with great expectations!

We will be cruising out of Ft Lauderdale FL on Royal Caribbean "Jewel of the Seas" to: KEY WEST, COZUMEL, COSTA MAYA, & GRAND CAMEN ISLANDS.

(been to FL over sixty times & even now spend the winters if FL & still have never been to Key West- go figure)
