Two Children Missing From Arizona Home

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona authorities were searching for two young children Monday missing from a home where their grandparents and an uncle were found slain the night before.

Eighteen-month-old Bryan Cervantes and his 3-year-old sister, Jennifer, were believed to be with their father, Rodrigo Cervantes Zavala, who may have been headed for Mexico, officials with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.



Authorities described Cervantes Zavala, 34, as an ``investigative lead'' rather than a suspect. The children's mother told investigators that he had threatened the family several months ago.



Investigators went to the children's home late Sunday after two hang-up 911 calls were recorded, said sheriff's spokeswoman Kit Rustenburg.



The bodies of Saul Lopez Acosta, 63, and Trinidad Castro Acosta, 51, were found in the living room. Jesus Manuel Acosta, the children's 17-year-old uncle, was also dead.





The victims were all relatives of the children's mother, who was not at home at the time of the slayings, investigators said. Authorities did not immediately say how the three were killed or give other details.

you're very welcome, and NV that's a really wonderful idea. authorities surmise he was headed for mexico, but the border crossings would BOLO i would hope.

sheriff says the white truck is not included it the alert now. it was sold a week ago. the suspect was out on probation and had recently pled guilty to burglary and illegal possession of a weapon. i sure would like to know why he was not in jail in view of the plea. not to mention subject of INS action since he is a felon. as a courtesy we jail illegals here until INS decides what to do with them.

Amber Alert Canceled for Two Arizona Children

The Maricopa County Sheriff's office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety canceled the AMBER Alert after both cars were found. The children remain missing but it is believed that the suspect has fled to Mexico with the children at this time.

Bryan Cervantes is described as being a 18 month old Hispanic male, black hair, unknown eyes, 2'5". He was last seen wearing an orange t shirt with airplane on it and blue shorts.

Jennifer Cervantes is described as being a 3 year old Hispanic female, black hair, 3'4". She was last seen wearing a pink t shirt with "B" on it and flowered jeans.

The suspect, Rodrigo Cervantes-Zavala. is described as being a 34 year old male, Hispanic with black-graying hair, approximately 170 lbs.

The white 1998 Ford F-150 Pick Up with Arizona license plate number 866NMZ has been located.

The Green 1993 Buick 4D Arizona license plate number 709SDW is the remaining suspect vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Maricopa County Sheriff's office at 602-876-1011 or dial 911.

the suspect is not only a kidnapper, but a murder suspect....and mexico will not extradite if death penalty is possible.

this is another case similar to the Groene case in ID last May. the National Center for Missing and Exploited children should activate the NALC/USPS CHILD ALERT PROGRAM, immediately. every Post Office in the country should have the photo/id of the missing children and the person they think snached them, within 24 hours.
