Mausoleums

I wonder - is there a tradition or even an instance of a mausoleum wherein the public may view the curated remains of the deceased? Mao has one. Lenin has one. Is there nobody in America honoured that way? No carpetbagger? No State Governor basking in the goodwill of his constituents generations after his departure from office?
