I will add to my thinking so far, if I may.

For some while I thought that using the 10 most common letters in English for the first 2 words would give me a good chance at getting the solution at guess 3 or 4. And it does. It's a lousy strategy on quordle though. I'd stick with it on wordle.

For quordle, using the 20 most common letters in English for the first 4 words gives me a very good chance of solving with 8 guesses, and a very good chance of 9 as a fallback. So far it's not failed at all, I'm rather hoping to find a game where it fails. The strategy does stop me getting a better score though, which is practically unavoidable if you tie up the first 4 guesses that way. It's very very safe though.

Googling my 4 quordle words gets no hits. Googling my 2 wordle words found one hit, which pleased me that someone else had chosen it.

I am mostly randomized.
I start Wordle with a fairly random word. It must have two vowels. That has been my only "rule"
It seems to work as well as any other method I have seen being used.

Quordle, I have tried starting with the Wordle solution, so somewhat "randomized."

If I can solve one word in four or less, I can usually finish with a completion.
