My Sterling Dump Truck was struck by lightening. Because it is under warranty i decided not to tell the dealership. The head mechanic acted like it was a piece of cake. Its been a week now and they cannot find why the computer system fails to work after replacement? If i tell them the value of the vehicle is gone. When repaired it will be traded for another. If they knew what happened the vehicle would be of no value. Never say when a vehicle has been struck.

you should be ashamed of yourself. you are no different from a common thief by this admission.

tell them the truth, pay for the repairs. that's the only right thing to do.

it will cost you far more than the value of the truck if they find out you defrauded them.

lightning strikes can leave behind very specific sorts of damage that no other phenomenon can. if they choose to investigate deeply, they'll find out, and you'll be in serious trouble.

though i suppose you could always plead ignorance. the lightning must have struck while you were away.

i was kind of wondering that myself. i would expect the vehicle to have some rather nasty, telltale burn marks on it if hit by lightning. you'd think that would be a giveway to the service folks.

i am not certain, but i think the lightning strike could have followed the path of least resistance and not left marks. i could be wrong!.... whatever, if she is of the opinion lightning struck and her intent is to defraud, it doesn't matter if it struck or not. it's all about the intent. and character.

Thread Hijack alert... Of course, it could be one of those sting operations. Some federal agents from that bunch that invaded Waco might have told her "wow, we just saw lightning strike your earth-mover, Miss" having first cunningly disabled it themselves, and as we speak they're preparing a case of fraudulent declaration with intent to embezzle, the proceeds of which they have reason to believe are destined to support terrorist activity. I can't think of many other scenaria which fit the facts.

we have photos that show the antenna fryed, the tires flat and the computer system is burnt? as the vehicle was at our aggregate site, our electronic scale system was also hit. insurance covered damages. we are business people who pay in excess thousands yearly for insure coverage.

we repaired vehicle tires, alternators etc, without these skills one doesn't remain in business. get up, time to go to work, not the keyboard, outside with real men. you have balls don't you? good use them as they were designed. :wah:

Agnes, you obviously never found the right lever to pull - the Sterling range transform into a flying robot with a laser targetting delivery system and out-of-atmosphere capability. Read the manual, next time.
