tude notes in the preceding post that "Biden has committed $86.9 million to put border migrants in hotels", written beside a "Homeless Veterans" placard. The cartoon is titled "Border Migrants in Hotels, Michael Ramirez. (March 24, 2021)" and appeared, as best I understand these matters, in the National Review which at least acknowledges its sources.

Not even spent, mind. Merely made budgetary provision for. Never mind, tude's against $2 trillion rescue packages regardless of which administration approves it so it's reasonable he'd be against "the government" housing border migrants in any way with his money, hotel or otherwise. I doubt he would have approved if the money had been committed to Homeless Veterans either, I presume not. It would be out of character.

I'm not aware of any reliable count of Homeless Veterans in the UK but I'd be prepared to bet it's over a hundred and less than a thousand, depending on what "Homeless" means to the counters. My range would cover Veteran rough sleepers on any given average night throughout the year, though I also note that two thirds of Veteran rough sleepers in the UK have been recorded as serving in non-UK, rather than UK, armed forces. I expect both the proportion and the count would be different in America.

However, I digress. To my point. The National Review published two other cartoons on the 24th March, one of which shows a media commentator announcing "Hate crime is caused by some people unfairly demonizing others! People like all those scary, violent, ignorant, racist, xenophobic, white-supremacist, Trump-loving Republicans!" (Hate Crimes, Bob Gorrell. (March 24, 2021)).

You bet your sweet bippy it is.

Look that up in your Funk & Wagnalls.

Tude where do you get these from? They are so hate filled. They aren't even clever. Cartoonists are supposed to be clever in their wit.

Perhaps they explain the various meanings of gag?

They're American. The days of Charlie Brown are long gone round those parts.

I look for cartoons that are simple, sharp, and to the point. All the better if people are disturbed.

I think most of what you've put up is beyond critique .
