GDP Economic Growth Under Obama Worst In History. Socialism Doesn't Work. Trump's GDP Under A Capitalist Mindset Already Higher Than ANY Year Under Obama. Lowest Unemployment Claims In 44 Years Under Trump. SNP Near Record Highs. Dow Jones Hits Record High Under Trump. Captitalism built ALL of the Economic Giants in the world. Socialism always ends in a nightmare for all.

Barack Obama Is Now The Only President In History To Never Have A Year Of 3% GDP Growth?
Herbert Hoover, the Republican 31st President, never got US GDP growth to move out of negative figures. Do your own homework. And before you blame it on the mess he was dealt, Hoover's predecessor as President was a Republican too and the one before that as well.
And there were only two years in the whole of this century that saw US GDP growth as high as 3%, and those two years were fueled chiefly by Dubya's deregulated subprime mortgage housing bubble which led to the worldwide Capitalist bank-driven recession whoopsie. Which bits of that have you forgotten? Lehman Brothers crashing, Meryl Lynch? Fanny Mae, securitized lending at $10 trillion of the $25 trillion American credit market, mass foreclosures of poison loans which were only advanced to make bonus targets? Or is deregulation still The American Way.

LarsMac;1513812 wrote: I will just jump right in there with "What a load of Malarkey"Well, I would prefer "What a pile of..." never mind.
Here is something I copied from a website that I would characterize as logical, with no particular slant:
"Socialism allows for privately owned property and businesses exisitng alongside public run institutions. Germany is the perfect example. It has a coordinated market economy. Essentially the core of socialism is the redistributive capactiy of its welfare state and strength of employment restrictiveness policies."
I lived in Germany for nearly ten years. I lived in a wonderful little town called Ratingen, just outside Duesseldorf. I also traveled all over the country. I never saw any city, or neighborhood thereof, that I would describe as wretched or run-down.
Every working person was employed and every worker belonged to a union.
No squalor, no rich people in one part of town and dirt-poor across the tracks as in big-city USA.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a loyal American, but what a shame it cannot be like socialist Germany or any of the other European socialist cities!
Well, who knows, maybe some day. Bernie Sanders, I will be voting for you in 2020!
Added later: Perhaps off the topic, but interesting: Ambulance service in Ratingen is provided by a Catholic fraternal group called the Knights of Saint John of Malta, and it's FREE.
In the USA a trip like that would probably cost you or your insurance company a couple of hundred bucks.

It is true that the 3% GDP growth rate was not achieved during the Obama administration. The question is, of course, why this is a big deal. It's not! It's a gotcha story!
It's funny, Newt Gingrich has always claimed that the growth rate success of the Clinton years was due to the fact that most of those years Congress was held by Republicans and it was them forcing spending restraints on Clinton that was the key. We don't see Republicans claiming responsibility this time, do we?

But I'd like to know more about the 'plants'. As far as I know, to post here you have to have applied and are subject to certain rules. If you're claiming that posters are getting on surreptitiously, I'd like to know more about that. Surely the forum's managers would be aware of this.

These "plants" are the latest allegations US intelligence is circulating via the US corporate media outlets. It's handy for the media because it damages the credibility of their competitors, that being social media outlets, which is probably a good thing anyway. Sites such as FB and Twitter are about as damaging to civility as could be, not to mention an embarrassment to a nation's education system. However, the corporate media's collusion with American intelligence is no better, and probably worse since it is intentional and relies on past reputations of the media names (Washington Post - New York Times - CNN).
The problem is that although there may be truth in this plant allegation, the US is probably as guilty if not more so than other countries. Which means that the purpose of this new focus is to redirect attention away from the US and onto Russia. Manipulation 101?

"Plants" as such I have suspected but cannot of course prove - not here, on the BBC Have Your Say. What I am more sure about is people who adhere to a particular extreme viewpoint on a self-appointed mission to fight for their side - again on HYS but also perhaps here. To do that they will say anything, true or not, because after all, what they are fighting for is Good and Right.
At least some of them have, perhaps without realising it, got to a point where the end justifies the means. It's the sort of thinking that led in the past to the Inquisition and burning at the stake.

Apparently Trump is stonewalling the Russia embargo he signed into law. It should apparently be enforced by now - in fact by October 1st - but it hasn't been. Why not, do you think? Does the man who ran the Miss World contest, funded by a Russian Bank suspected of having ties to the Kremlin, possibly have connections there he doesn't dare upset?

Just wait until Trump lowers taxes. It's going to get even better.

Taxes on everyone else will be lowered as well. Let's see what happens to the economoy under Capitalism. It's already surpassing any year of Obama's socialist policies in the first year.

China is a Communist Country that is using more and more Capitalistic policies. No it is not Capitalism, but as they open the markets more and more like Capitalism, and allow competition, they are prospering more. Capitalism is building their economy, not their Communism/Socialism that has brought poverty for the past 80 years in China. They have always been severely poor until they instilled more Capitalism in their economy. Also, their economy is based largely on a trade imbalance with the United States in which they get the much better end of the stick. Trump is going to even that playing field.

You mean what you call trickle down and what actually works. Cutting taxes on the everyone including the rich is the best way to help the economy. When the rich Business owners make more money, they hire more employees, spend more money and it helps the poor by given them jobs. It also helps the economy.
