'Stop! I’ve done nothing wrong': Nurse shares police video of 'crazy' arrest
Is this story big in the US ?
It shows an amazing belief by the police in might being right

I don't know what that means, "might being right."
It is a training issue. The nurse though hit the jackpot and sure to be very well compensated.
I saw it on the tv news and suspect all the cop haters will do their best to play it up.

"Might" as in strength or authority, being correct.
You know, like having the biggest arsenal of nukes ?

2. It shows an amazing belief by the police in might being right1. Yes, quite big, I just saw the recorded segments on two different network news shows.
2. Here I'm not sure what you mean. The officer has been suspended, though currently with pay, we will see what happens from here on.
Obviously I wasn't there, but from the recorded material he seems to have been completely wrong and the nurse right.
It did seem to me, however, that she "freaked out" somewhat unnecessarily, she should kept her cool, but then again, I wasn't there.

To paint all police with the same brush because of one idiot - Ok, several idiots, this one just being the most recent - seems a tad unfair to me.

I must have mentioned it before. I believe that a huuge reason Trump got the Republican nomination was that he would say something stupid the coverage of that would just suck the air out of the room. The media coverage of the nomination process was all Trump all the time.
His showmanship just goes to demonstrate the dumbing down of the electorate.

This is so wrong.
Utah nurse, violently arrested for doing her job, reaches $500,000 settlement
VIOLENT ARREST?
Anyway, seems jurors all to often are really free with other peoples money.

That has been SOP for years. You don't have a warrant, you don't get that stuff without the patient's permission. They cop should have known, and the hospital should have not left the nurse all alone to deal with the cop.
When you screw up like that, somebody gets the bill.

I am agreeing with the Tude on this one......never thought that would ever happen.
The policeman Payne lost his job,his supervisor Tracy should have lost his job too instead of being demoted, and with no right of appeal, the evidence was there for all to see.
If I get it right the hospital itself paid damages ?
And the terms of the settlement are confidential...............why ?
The only good thing to come out of this is the decency of the nurse involved using part of the money unselfishly.
The copper had a bad day, bad judgment, bad outcome and was backed up by his superiors, and who pays ?
Or rather who should pay ? Them alone.

By firing the officer but not disciplining the supervisor, it looks like the police department just washed their hands of it. Now that they have to pay out, the higher levels of management will be determined not to have a repeat of that situation and perhaps make the changes to the training and supervision process to make sure that it doesn't happen again. That can only be a good thing.
