Sochi air disaster

A plane crashing two minutes after take-off with a third of the Red Army Ensemble on board. It's a dreadful thing to happen.

There was an outbound Heathrow crash on Staines High Street decades ago, stalling after the pilot had a heart attack. Nothing else instantly springs to mind for comparison.

Losing so many musicians is awful.

That's either badly maintained or incorrectly set for takeoff. Neither is good. Either is better than sabotage.

All it did was land for fuel, nobody will have changed the hardware and it was airworthy for the first leg.

That voice recorder has tape in it, not digital storage.
