Anbybody seen Christian Bale (now Batman) in The Machinist?

He lost ONE THIRD of his body weight by reducing calorific intake till eventually he was down from approx 180 pounds (12st, 12lbs) to 120 pounds (8st, 8lbs) and he looks absolutely SKELETAL! Apparently at one stage he was surviving on just 1 apple and 1 cup of coffee a day `just to see how much he could lose!`

So now I know how to lose weight!!!

Yes, I saw it - I couldn't believe it was him! Man, he was creeeepy looking - I guess that was the whole idea for the role. He sure looked like a heroin junkie or Auschwitz internee. I guess that's a testament to his dedication to the art, like DeNiro with Raging Bull, except the other way!

I watched something on TV about him losing weight, couldn't be good for him to lose that much but it didn't stop him taking a great role in the film.

Truly a great actor.

I haven't seen this yet. Is the movie any good? I think he is a great actor.
